Or your rode home slowly on the wheel?

Surprisingly the pressure held. My plan was a 33 mi ride. I wasn't too far from the furthest distance. Ignorant of my lack of spare tubes I kept riding. The nail did a good job of plugging the hole.

RubeRad Just a plane old tire and tube. No sealants.

This thread is ten years old! I would not have predicted that we would have so many found-on-the-ground stories.

I think riders fall into 2 groups...

--Group #1 (The larger group) The riders that never see anything on the ground as they ride
--Group #2 (thew smaller group) The riders that see everything on the ground.

Group #2 is who is on this thread!!!!!!!

To be fair, my tires are what find stuff on the ground the vast majority of the time...😁

Group #1a ride on routes with nothing on the ground.
Group #1b ride past things but don't notice them.

I contend that there is ALWAYS stuff on the ground but most people simply are not interested in it.

In Metro Phx, it's good to watch for screws, retreads, nails, broken glass, tree trimmings (most of out trees have thorns. I still run over stuff without seeing it first. Like that nail.

Partly my fault. That section of road is junk yards, quarries, etc. OTOH, what I'm really looking for is photo ops, new graffiti, unusual weed flowers, etc. I get distracted pretty easily.

Good find today, a Silky pruning saw. It snapped right back together. The parts are a little bent. I guess I’ll have to try it to see if it seizes. It seems whippy enough to be ok. The scabbard clip is definitely toast.

Also interviewed a stand up paddle board fin, but candidate rejected when it was clear his entire flange was snapped off

No. I would call more interested in what is on the ground.
----After I spotted a $5.00 bill on the ground I became way more interested in what I was rolling over mile by mile.

This is a burnt spot on the street. I watched a Camaro burn down here a month or two back. It was really sad. The guy was there watching his baby burn while he awaited the fire department. You can see it actually burned INTO the asphalt.

When I was in college our women's basketball team went to the finals. There was a nice friendly bonfire in the street in front of my dorm, burning a nice big banner that said "F--- DUKE". Some people helped by requisitioning the furniture from the downstairs lounges for fuel. The scar in the street remained through grad school. When the fire truck arrived the crowd moved off to the football field, where they were tear-gassed.

Coming over to pub quiz tonight I came across a Minions insulated lunch bag, the kind that comes along with a backpack. It was in a crosswalk. I hung it on an electrical box on the signal. If no one grabs it before my return leg, I might. We sometimes need another one when the kids leave theirs on the floor and the dog opens it with teeth not thumbs.

There's a similar scorched area on the highway on my evening commute.
