Since I commute in the main for fitness, IMO a ride of less than about 10 miles does not offer much satisfaction, since I estimate it takes me about six miles to fully warm-up. To paraphrase Barry Goldwater; “A short commute is no virtue; a hilly route is no vice.”

.4 mi one way, too lazy to walk and too lazy to find my car keys. I win.

about twice a week I commute from the GFs condo, 6 miles away.

I walk on occasion but like riding home for lunch and having 50 minutes to myself during the day.

When I worked here:

I stood up out of bed, pulled on my pants and braced myself holding the back of my office chair while I pulled on my shoes.

Like rumrunn6 and Jim From Boston said, my commute is a little short for my taste, but I really can't complain about that. If I have time, I can add extra miles here and there. I'm trying to work it out so I can make my commute a 10-12 mile ride once or more every week. I was really curious to see if other people went to the trouble of bike commuting for such a short distance.
