This mornings commute was nice since it is my first this week. The temp was 20f degrees with clear skies as the light started coming up. No winds today, lucky me!

A final blast of arctic air, but with no wind. It was a nice ride in today. I didn't want to get out of a warm bed, though...

Ride home last night was steady but slow. It took me two hours to travel the thirty miles. That's about 10-15 minutes slower than my mid-season average. I've got some work to do.

Rain today. But, tomorrow looks promising with only about a 30% chance of rain predicted in both the morning and afternoon. Sounds doable.

Colder than normal for the southeast in April: 27F at 7am. I had to bundle up as though it was February again.

ohhhh you were talking about more bike commuters out since the time change. Yeah I can see that. :thumb: I'm still the only lone bike commuter in my area that I've ever seen.

Yesterday was pretty nice going home. My Performance Ultra bibs are by far the most comfortable shorts out of all the shorts/bibs that I own. And I made a saddle adjustment the other day that seems to be working pretty well. Had a tailwind for part of the ride, also. Feels good man!

Coldest morning commute since probably late February here. We had a hard freeze and temps were in low 30s during my ride to work. I wore my winter jacket, tights, warmest gloves and balakava for the first time in weeks. However, temps are supposed to reach the low 60s this afternoon. Hopefully the wind will die down some or change direction by then. Stiff headwinds made for a tough ride home yesterday.

i was bundled up as well. 24.7F is the lowest I saw on the GPS [MENTION=366933]mgw4jc[/MENTION] sure missing the spring temps.

Dang, southern east coast states having a cold snap eh? Haven't seen any temperatures like that around Memphis and I don't expect we will. Coldest it's been in recent weeks is low 40's a few mornings last week.

Ice pellets in the face last night - snow ice today so I cheated and drove my car in. I do 17 miles one way rural highway/open fields. I watch the weather so I know what to expect but the one factor the weather forecasting apps seem to be unable to correctly predict is wind direction and speed. It seems everytime I see a nice East tailwind forecasted for my ride home - I am out there and riding into a wall. Maybe it is just where I live- we have a huge mound or as the ski hill calls it "mountain" surrounded by relatively flat/rolling hills. Nonetheless, off we go - I got to get the car back to the wife and then ride back. Luckily I have a flexible schedule.

Why don't we use the word wind like we use the word rain?

It winded at about 15mph from the west during this morning's ride.
It looks like it will be winding again this afternoon when I ride home.

Uneventful ride this morning with a tiny headwind, but man I'm sick of these cool morning temps. Bring on the 60's and above so I can ride both to and from work with shorts/jersey only!

just a quarter mile this morning, from the car mechanic to the office. I get to ride home in glorious 80F sunshine though. My wife who ran into work this morning will drive it home (if the work is done).

I felt wounded after being winded.

I used my pump to put some wind in my tires.

I had a fantastic ride to work yesterday morning, possibly the best. I have awful pain in my feet when I ride, and I think my next step in pursuing it is a podiatrist's office. But yesterday morning, I didn't have any. No back or neck pain, either. The weather was gorgeous.

I stopped upon a guy who had a flat tire, and I helped him. We put in my spare tube, and I took his punctured tube home. He had a pretty big staple in his tire. I better remember to patch that tube before I go out again.

Riding home was tough. I usually have headwinds in the morning, but the ride back was quite windy. The pain in my feet did come back for some reason. I don't know why it went away in the morning.

I drove my wife's car to work this morning. I really don't like doing this. A horrible smell has developed inside the car, so I brought it to the detailing shop. It's a rainy day, so the detailing guy isn't working today, so all that trouble wasn't worth it. I also had to spend a good bit of time finding a parking spot.

Hopefully you filled them with tailwind. If you fill them with headwind it will slow you down.

I don't think that she is ready for groups yet. I was thinking HUB. I have an appointment upstairs from their office next week and I was going to pop in and get some info.

It has been very nice smelling out, especially after the rain the other night. So fresh and fragrant.

It has continued to be windy (sometimes even drizzly) every single day, so #30daysofbiking has definitely been a kick in the pants to keep getting out there and riding. I took it too easy this past winter, and I'm a little behind schedule in shedding that extra weight...

It was another nice commute this am, with the temp at 48f degrees and no wind. It will get breezy today(per the weather person on local tv) but that beats gusty winds by a landslide.

The wind was only partly in my favor yesterday. On one good section I was barely pedaling and going over 20mph. On a not so good section I was holding the handlebars tightly to keep from being blown off the road.

My wife drove me to work today. The family will be picking me up after work and we head to Jekyll Island for the weekend. My son has a gymnastics competition there tomorrow evening.

I Have driven the past two days ...I thought yesterday was going to be rainy all day... it wasn't. :(
it has been very windy the past week. It has been way above average in the wind department. 10-30mph. So strong !

I could fell it pushing my car around and it swirled around as a I went for a run last night. I am kind of glad I did not ride because this whole week has been windy and my legs have been tired. I am supposed to be running a 4 mile run this weekend with my sister at 8am on Saturday. It is supposed to be 42F and 20mph winds. :twitchy: I was hoping for spring weather when I signed up now I am trying to figure out how or what kind of layers I will need.

My body feels a little more rested after being able to sleep in and get a little more rest. I think it was a good call to rest up a little this week my rides have all been slower than average. :eek:

the past two days of driving have confirmed for me that biking is much better for me. I am on time and I don't have to fight the traffic like I have the past two days. it has been brutal.

Beautiful morning for riding in NC today, with temps in the low to mid-40s and calmer winds for a change. Plus, the pollen finally seems to be tailing off. I drove yesterday since we had a lot of rain, so my legs were well rested this morning. My main commuter bike, the Bob Jackson, is totally filthy from other rain rides lately and is due for a good washing. It probably won't happen this weekend, however, because it is supposed to be very cold and windy here.

Have a nice time at Jekyll, mgw4cj. We lived in Savannah before moving to Raleigh and I've spent a lot of time camping, cycling, hiking and canoeing in Coastal Georgia. Pick up some Avon Skin So Soft lotion if you haven't already. It's the most effective repellent for the no-see-ums in the coastal areas.

5 of the last 6 days have had wind gusts around 40mph. However, the commute this morning (albeit cool) was nice because the winds haven't kicked in yet. We'll have at least 35mph gusts this afternoon. :(
