Preach it, brother!!
Right now my focus is on finding something for my sister, who has a semi-crappy mountain bike that does not fit. It's her birthday in a couple of weeks and I want to surprise her with a city bike that's ready to go on grocery runs and out for pathway rides. She probably won't commute, since she works at night and would be looking at about 40 kms round trip, but she did specifically say she would like to do weekend rides and errands. I am hunting for a mixte, ideally!
I'll definitely stop in if I make it up north. Actually I'm hoping to ride the Tour d'Alberta in July so that gets me in the area anyway.
Check your PM's, I have a question about a Raleigh Twenty.

And as for my friend Lamplight... get that good looking bike out of this thread... it's an insult to the truly ugly bikes of which, I have yet to see any.

That was a special occasion of sorts... 30lbs of fresh produce I had to get home somehow! I've since acquired a larger set of panniers, retired the milk crate, and gifted the basket to someone (it looked SO pretty on the ladies' Raleigh I fixed up for a friend
).
As for anvil... heh. I actually have one. It's really small and I use it for jewellery making. It has travelled with me on several occasions and I do have fun with people's expressions when they pick up my luggage, gasp at its weight, and ask what I have in there. "An anvil and some rocks," I reply with perfect truth...

I guess my old CCM is a little scruffy and she does get taken on the commute from time to time... since she is such a senior citizen (she's 75) I don't work her too hard and she's on my list for a full on restoration.

Am I the only one here who does not understand how the cranks on that Condor work? Am I really seeing what I think I am? Both crank arms down at the same time? Is this a bike intended to be ridden by a kangaroo?

Which just goes to show that there really is no such thing as an ugly bike.

I love that ugly old bike and it does seem that people like her... you can tell your son that bike is 75 years old and was made in Canada (it's a CCM).
Just wait 'til spring... she will have a new coat of paint in the proper colours.

I almost bought a 199something mountain bike to use as a winter bike. The damn thing was bright pink. It was fugly. I wanted it bad.
Then I remembered I don't have a garage, yard, or any other place to put an ice covered bike.
