Fenders?

Ok, with all the upgrades and adjustments finished (I hope) here is my bike with new ultegra shifting, FD/RD and 105 triple crank. It rides so nice now, and I'm about to take it out for its first ride in the rain.

I don't have much need for them around here, but I would like to get some removeable ones for when I do need them. Maybe race blades or something...the rear can definitely handle them, but there's limited clearance in the front since I switched the fork.

Here's my Fuso, converted to a fixed gear after the cone bearings in the original Dura-Ace hubs packed up and checked out... I've also included a link to Fixed Gear Gallery wear the bike was just posted. The frame is a 30th Anniversary edition from Dave Moulton, 53 cm.

I also just rode in an annual Super Bowl Sunday ride this past weekend. Its just an excuse for folks to ride into down town Dallas and converge for lunch. Round trip was about 60 miles.

Never had a chance to take any pics until this past weekend. Picked it up on CL back in November; my first road bike and my only bike. Rode Saturday and came back on Sunday with the camera. :D

I commute on it with a backpack. Usually there's a Dinotte in the front as well as the back.

I just got the Buzz on closeout at the local REI, a screaming deal. It replaced this 06 Trek 7.3FX which was nice, but WAY too small. It was my first bike as an adult, so I didn't know anything about sizing. Needless to say, I don't use that LBS anymore.

Saving the best for last, here's my 08 Jamis Quest which I use to commute on nice days and for weekend rides. Just put the white Fizik tape on the bars, and I'm at least 25% faster now. :innocent:

I rode her around the park a couple of times and through the neighborhood streets for her first 10 miles and she's not bad. Not fast but real sturdy. Here is my Puch Meteor Lux with her new Bell Comfort saddle:

This bike is fast. I can use a bigger frame but it's what I got. Just got the left crank replaced by my LBS and I am happy happy happy.

My new 2007 Jamis Commuter 3.0 (JC3) -- customized.

Not sure about the VO chain guard. Because of the thickness of the tubes, the thing doesn't fit well with the p-clamps that came with the guard. Also, I might like it better if I painted it black.

I took JC3 out for a 15 mile ride this morning and the SMP's rode nicely. The Brooks B68S will be much nicer once it's broken in. I love the butterfly bars and the stretch they allow me. This is not quite my favorite ride, yet, tho. Maybe after a bit more tinkering...I've had enough fun for now. Putting the SMP's on an IGH hub wheel was enough fun to last me for weeks.

This is a 1980-something Montgomery Ward frame that I built up in the commuter style using mostly used/spare parts. I don't really "commute" per se as I work 20 rural highway miles away and often have to do home visits in the surrounding area, but I do try to minimize my driving around town using this rig.

Also shown is the bike with a trailer I built for it out of electrical conduit.

I have the same VO chain guard. Good work. Functionality is more important than looks, IMHO, at least for a commuter.

Hey! I used to have a pair of Wards bikes! They were kind of neat (still no match for yout bumble bee) because they were twins- boys model and girls model. We`ve since given them away, but they were fun for a while. Good job on the trailer- I love DIY stuff.

Here's my commuter! It's a little folding bike I ride all over NYC. I have several saddle bags for it but they aren't attached in this picture.

Yes. I got so very tired of cleaning my chain this winter that I decided my new commuter would have a chain guard. Doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as it allows me to spend less time with grease on my hands.

My Daily Commuter
 

Here is my daily commuter, spring, summer, fall and winter. I got this bike this year to replace my fixed gear and mountain bike since I have quite a few hills on my commute. Also it is a step towards selling my car, this bike can be used as a replacement for my car when running errands and going to work. So far it is really nice, especially since the fenders have been added. The only things I have done are add lights, the rack, fenders and replaced the ass hatchet that came with it to a nice B-17 Special in Green. Oh and I mounted a Marathon Winter to the front wheel from my fixed gear so I can swap it out quickly if there is inclement weather in the forecast.
