Hey, folks! Pictures, please!

SnowTown, I don't know. I just bought the fixed gear bike Nashbar recently had on sale for less than $350. It's a no-name aluminum frame in glossy black. Some parts are super cheap, but overall, I got a fantastic deal, and the ride is superb. I'd like to get a road version of this frame!

new ride

My new ride is nearly complete. Packed it up last night and took this terrific cellphone pic.
This will be my "poor man's Atlantis" all-rounder bike. That's a sport kite velcro'd to the top tube;
brought it to a friend at work today. Waiting to wrap the bar once everything is tuned up. I've got
big build-up plans for this bike as the year goes by.

1991 Bridgestone CB-1

It looks groovey, Mango. Gonna put up some more pics? I`ve seen lower level CBs before, but yours is the first CB1. What kind of components does it have?

Thanks. Real pics coming later in the week. Components: Sugino (GT?) double 48-36, 12-32 SRAM cassette, XT Rear D, 105 Front D, Ultegra bar cons, LX cantis, Soma 3 Speed bar, MKS Touring pedals, Brooks B-17, Sun CR17A's laced to Deore hubs. All of these parts ('cept wheels) came off of my 81' Lotus build. The Lotus is being repainted and rebuilt with other gear. I had been looking for a CB and ended up finding this one here: https://web.mit.edu/nlerner/www/CB1.html He was willing to sell the frame/fork/headset/post and I'm very happy to have it. It'll get a rebuild/repaint later in the year.

I am in with this build! Congrats on a beautiful bike! Do my eyes deceive me, or are there disc mounts on that frame?

How do you like the steps with the i-9? I switched from a Nexus 8 to the i-9 and love it. Got the Velo Orange bell too. I'll get a photo up tomorrow.

This is "Pepe", my 'little mule.' Not glamorous, weighs a ton with my briefcase and other items, but with a few changes to a stock Giant Cypress it turned into a pretty useful and comfortable commuter bike. Has 700 x 38 tires that I want to change to 700 x 32 or 35 - wanna change the front fork to a non shock variety, but for now it's doing the job.

So far the i-9 is great, heavy but great. The steps are perfect for my commute and I think I dialed in the correct front chainring/rear sprocket combo (46/21) that lets me ride it in 5th which is the 1:1 gear most of the time. The bike is a tank weighing in around 40 lbs, but it is a great training tool. When I get on my lighter bikes they fly! Since you have an IGH bike you might want to check this place out if you don't already know about it. https://groups.yahoo.com/group/Geared_hub_bikes/

Bikes: Singlespeed rigid MTB with slicks and hydraulic discs ($70 each end, why not?), Trek 1220 with Ultegra and handbuilt wheels

The Roadrat is a chromoly frame with disc mounts, you can run it single speed or geared, v brakes or discs etc. Pretty versatile. I was going to get one, but a Kona Paddy Wagon was cheaper.

But yeah, that build is really nice looking. Thumbs up!

Bikes: Surley LHT custom, fixed commuter, dahon folder, schwinn suburban,Dashboard Kickscooter

I commute in Portland ME, year round 18-30 miles roundtrip depending on the season...
In the winter I ride:
Schwinn Woodlands frame
48t track crank
16t ss cog
Deda Double Bolted stem
Action Riser bars
Deore XT brake levers
Tektro V-brakes
Nokian Mount n Ground Tires

This baby hasnt let me miss but a day of commuting this year...with record snowfalls, temperatures reaching -15 degrees and ice storms very frequent...it took the bike to its limit !
[img=https://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4719/1003222.jpg]

As for my non-winter commuter...

Spaulding Blade Frame
Brooks B66 double rail saddle
Soma Urban Pursuit Bars and Reverse Brake Levers
Dia Compe Side Pull Calipers
Sakae 175m Crank
52t Chainring
15t fixed cog
IRO Hubs
Deep V rims
MkS touring pedals

I recently made the switch back to my "fast" bike this week after being on my winter commuter since December 1st...What a difference !

Whoa Matt! You can't just post up a single blurry pic of that beauty and then run! From what I can see, that's a real beauty. Sure would like to see a more detailed post with more pictures!!

Welcome, and enjoy that bike.
