In my second day of ownership, after the first day commuting on it. There are times I wish for a lower 1st gear. But I wasn't willing to spend the extra $330 for the 8-speed model. It is a blast, going back to a rear coaster brake. I never realized how accustomed I became to a freewheeling hub.

Bikes: Early 1980's Norco Pinnacle
This is just an old 1980's Norco Pinnacle converted for commuting. I'll post better pictures one day. I have a symilar bag on the back and one on the handlebars for my extra cothes when we get wierd weather here in Calgary, which is almost daily. I have ridden this one for 8 years now and only repaced BB, Chain, brake pads and tires. I commute in almost all types of weather except during the worst storms with it is dangerous. I have tried with and without fenders and I love them, anything that keeps the yucky road and pathway slop off me is good. I have a couple of Mountain equipment coop 1 watt lights up front and a planet bike flasher in the back. The fenders are from Planet Bike. I like this bike and will likely get another rigid mountain bike when this one dies.

I like them. I take my LHT on some fire road rides and it helps riding offroad with the shallow and flared drops. The top flats are a little bit on the narrow side if you like to ride that part of the bar. BTW, what brand of bar did you get?

I mostly ride on the hoods but I do get up in the top regularly. It looks about as wide at the hoods as my 44's on the one bike and the drops look wider then my 46's on the other. Little concerned if the hoods are going to feel funny turned sideways.

WTB is the brand. Looks like they came off a damaged Raleigh Sojourn.

Bikes: 1984 Cannondale ST; 1975 Raleigh Grand Prix; mystery Nashbar tandem MTB; 1991 Paramount Series 20 PDG (in bits); 1984 Raleigh Record (in smaller bits, needs dropout repair); 1985 Raleigh Alyeska (wrecked, needs downtube repair)
I found it interesting that even though First gear was a bit on the tall side, it was still pretty easy to get the bike moving, at least there in the flat parking lot.

Hey, thought I would post my commuter here. Not many commuters in Omaha, NE but we are slowly growing in number.
It is a GIANT Boulder bicycle with road tires. Stopping is a nightmare when going faster than 25kph. And yes that's a German flag. Also this is a HEAVY bicycle, tipping the scale at ~40lbs.

Those black boxes rubber banded to the handlebars are speakers. I need something to listen to on my 45min commute to work each day and headphones are out of the question.

Say, I was thinking of getting a Kona Dew Drop for my main commuting bike, and I see some things on yours that aren't on the stock model (double crank, bar-end shifters). Did you build this up yourself or modify the one that came stock? Also, how's it ride with the drop bars? I'm used to seeing them as flat bar bikes.

my old girl. switched back to drops from the pursuit bars.
*also, if any of you have, or know someone who does have the old cannondale rack that was designed for these canti frames i'd like to buy it. thanks.

Bikes: I own a Sun EZ-3 recumbent trike.
I love the fenders on you Gary Fischer, Jeremy Z.
Terrific fenders too! I'm sure there's been days where you thought they were THE BEST thing you've ever done to your bike...

TATO bicycles object oriented
Hi there, from Switzerland, where bike communities have been growing steadily for the past years. I am a long time bike user, do some mountain biking but I mostly use a bike for commuting from home to office (6.5 miles/day) almost daily. Looking for a solution on how to transport my laptop and my files, I have developed a new frame. Have a look: www.tato.li

coffeecake: It is hard to recognize it as a Fisher without the huge GARY FISHER along the frame, eh? I think that and the flat black paint was their attempt to not draw thieves' attention to it in the cities.
