A view of the Tower Bridge. It was recently renovated and the color of the paint was widely criticized by locals. I like it, personally, especially early in the morning.

It's only really heavy for the last 5km or so (out of 20). But that said, if the traffic is heavy, it is quicker to bike. It can get really thick sometimes, and god forbid someone breaks down on the bridge - bikes rule the road on those days.

That wouldn't work too well if your dog was a St Bernard or a German Shepherd.

[QUOTE=N7CZinMT]No commute today. I had to go pick up my new bike. Actually, had to meet the shop owner at St. Mary, Montana for its maiden voyage up Logan Pass on the Going to the Sun Highway! This was my first attempt and I was not very well prepared. I made it to within 3 miles of the summit.

Great place! I've been there once and want to go again! We stayed in Glacier National Park for about a week while my friends and I took a cross country trip (by car unfortunately )

Hey Kdog!

Your right! Going to the Sun Road is AWESOME! In fact, on a bike, it is truly breath taking.

A bunch of us from Bike Journal .com are going to be riding it next July as part of our Reunion '05! I'm currently training to get better at climbing. I think we are doing an over and back. They say the west side is steeper. I can feel the pain just thinking about it.

Here are some pics of my commute through Philly that I shot with my Holga 120. Just to give something a little different from most of the other shots here.

Those Holga shots are nice!

There's nothing really interesting on my whopping 1.34 mile, urban commute, so I haven't taken any pictures. But maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough.

My commute is the same way... however, I do take random pics as I ride throughout the city on a daily basis. That's technically still "commuting" and the thread isn't restricted to just pictures of your commute to and from work. I generally post mine in my pic gallery on my website, the link to which is in my signature.. or here: https://gallery.whatthe****.info/thumbnails.php?album=18 I try to update 2-3 times a week... probably take some more tomorrow since it'll be nice and I'll be out cruising around.

We still have a few trees in color. This is on Freedom Parkway near the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta.

You guys have the "Bat Building", Broadway, and the Titans Stadium and you say there's nothing interseting in Nashville? Of course those might be off your usual route...

My wife and I got married there in September, and our whole family had a blast down there. It doesn't look like a bad city in which to live. And, in my mind, the biggest upside is the Station Inn.

Bikes: Univega 1985? Sportour

Most of my rides go like this:
1. Exit House/Work/School unto busy street
2. Duck down side street, ahh enjoy blissful cruising, waving at walkers, listening to the wind and the birds chirp.
3. Back on busy street to House/Work/School.

I have a small video and the pictures here.

All the cars are gone for road work. Very cool.

In the evenings, I ride home from school down a nice little neighborhood- complete with tall oaktrees? and yellow streetlights.
Hardley any cars, great bikelanes and smooth roads. Wonderful. My only fear is the older ladies in their large cars who say they can't see me (even with 2 Nashbar Bar-End lights, A rear blinkie and a bright front LED light.

I ride about 3 miles to work, 3 miles to home then 3 miles to school then 3 miles home again: usually about 25 miles during the week. Not much, but it feels like a good amount. Once I find a comfortable saddle I think I'll start branching out more.

IMAGE HOSTING:
By the way, if anyone needs any images or movies hosted, I'd be glad to help you out. There are lots of free services out there. If you need some help w/hosting, let me know.

It snowed on Sunday this week and though a lot of it had melted by Monday there was still some remnants around. Alas it had be clear that night with temps below freezing and there was a lot of ice on the trail. Anyway here is a couple of pics from the ride.

Two views of the park where I get on the Sammamish River Trail:

Yes this is the Sammamish River Trail. The bit in the photo above is right after the Wilmot Gateway park (on 131st Ave). If you are riding in the on the Burke-Gilman trail which becomes the SRT in Bothel, it is about 2 miles up the trail (over the Sammamish river, under the 405, under the train trestles in Woodinville) The SRT from Woodinville to Kirkland is really one of the nicest sections of the trail - no street crossings, farmland, the brewery/winery and the trail is mostly new. Alas there are a lot of amatuers there on nice days, but this time of year it is ideal.

Oh I should mention that those snowy pics I post are of Woodin Creek park which is about 1/4 of a mile down from the above mentioned Wilmot Gateway park. There are two apartment buildings in between the two parks (where I live) It is easier to park at the Wilmot though, there are only 6 slots at Woodin Creek.

Hi there,

I'm glad this thread resurfaces, I took these images because of this thread and I just got them developed , the last from my film camera.

On the sidewalk, home.

Bike path. I usually ride on the street here. Sometimes, I use the path on the way home.

Turn right at the Bike Shop.

New asphalt, big lanes, big trucks.

More trucks...

J-C Germain.

Trucks n' Donuts

Paradise exists

Traffic in the air.

The last mile.

At work.

Going home.

Well, since this thread is back in the mix, I can put up this pic I took last week. It's Boston's Hancock Tower building catching the first ray of sun to break through winter cloud cover. I took it from the Longfellow Bridge.

Those pictures really give me an impression of deja vu.

Gr8 pics Erick. Now I can't wait till my favorite highway (bike path) is opened again.
