This picture was taken at the Second Annual 50+ Forum Ride Weekend last July in Watkins Glen, NY held in connection with the Southern Tier Bicycle Club weekend. The blonde lady standing next to me is Miss Kenton of the 50+ Forum, who declined to be interviewed for this post.

BTW a Third Annual 50+ Forum Ride Weekend as planned for the weekend of July 8-10 near Ann Arbor MI in connection with the Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society. See details at:

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...uot-Invitation

No (reasonable) age limits for those who might wish to join.

Finally, back on topic, a question for Sixty-Fiver, the OP of this thread: is the picture in your avatar you, or John Cleese? If you, then add JC to the list of apparent look-a-likes (Mike Damone, Bruce Willis).

I do not think a bike freindly route exists in my neck of the woods ( Canton, GA ). Most of the drivers around here are, for the most part, not trying to run me over and that is alot better than most other areas around Atlanta.

Maybe they catch sight of your Black Flag tattoo and decide not to mess with you

I was expecting to see your mug on the other body - are you changing teams again? Where's the link for the photoshopped chipcoms over the years? Some of the newer members with strong stomachs may find it amusing.

I want to be on that other body alright...all over it, inside, outside and on the floor....but as a member of the home team. I'm sure you feel the same.

That doesn't seem so bad. A large portion of my commute looks like the first picture. I have a few miles on some quieter side streets, but a lot of it has cars constantly passing me. I think that is the reality for many commuters here. There just is not dedicated cycling infrastructure in most places.

Bikes: Too many to count. Changes on a frequent basis.

My brother and I went to see his son at his Daycare. They where having a Bike-a-thon. He was riding his Trek 7000 and me on my Trek 1100, and my nephew was riding his ever fashionable Elmo bike.

From a century I did on my 35th.

Pretty much what I look like on the commute but with a backpack and a cross bike with lights.
