Ok, add a set of padded cycling knickers and a set of SPD shoes to go with my pedals, and I don't think this really counts, but my local shops guy gave me a Bontrager drop bar and set of Sora brifters for free today. I am feeling pretty good about that.

Well my latest purchase does not go without a little story.
On May 9th I ordered a pair of Endura MT500 shorts from Chain Reaction Cycles.

They tell me it will be 5 to 8 days for delivery.
Since they are coming from the UK I have my doubts.
So 10 days pass and still no shorts... Then 13... no shorts.
So, I contact them to see whats up.
they tell me to wait until 15 full business days and if they have not showed up then contact them again and they will take care of it.
I wait 16 full days and contact them again.
They agree to send me a new pair of shorts.
Then a day later they contact me to tell me that they are out of stock on the shorts.
So I ask to see if they will swap the shorts for a set of Schwalbe Marathon supreme tires and they agree.
They then ship the tires.
With all of the communication back and forth it was nearly a month since I ordered the shorts.
Finally a package shows up from Chain Reaction and I'm all like "YAY my tires are here"
But no.
I open the package to find the shorts.
Apparently they were sent to Australia.
At this point in the story I have tires on the way and a pair of shorts I have paid nothing for.
Since I am a nice guy and the shorts debacle was not their fault I contact them again to tell them I got the shorts and owe them some money.
So they knock 25% off the price of the shorts and send the invoice to my paypal to pay at my leisure.
Then today, after nearly two weeks, my tires finally arrive.
So I mounted them up.

They will stay on the off roader until my new commuter is finished.
I am dying to see how much easier this makes my commute compared to the Kenda Small Block 8s that were on the bike.
And to wrap it all up I cannot say enough good things about how Chain Reaction handled this.
They did everything in their power to make it right and I will be buying more things from them in the future.

Bikes: Trek 830 Mountain Track Drop bar conversion
Brooks B17 saddle in black arriving today along with a tin of Proofide. I also ordered some bar tape to bulk up the softness and thickness of my grip on my butterfly trekking bars.
One other purchase on its way - mostly bike related - is a Big Agnes Air Core sleeping pad to be used for bike camping. My first overnight is slated for mid-July once things die down at work.

Bought a Selle Anatomica saddle. https://www.amazon.com/Selle-Atomica-.../dp/B000QSZQP0 Didn't get it off of Amazon, just showing you a pic of what it looks like. Paid just over $140 for it after taxes.

I went to the LBS yesterday to purchase a rear rack. I found the exact one I was looking for, and at just $15 ($10 less than the online stores, and of course $0 shipping fees) I realized I would have $$ left over for some fenders. Well, the only fenders on the sales floor that fit my bike were $40, so I asked if there was anything more affordable. The owner checked the back room and found a set of take-offs from a Redline Metro 9....$20. Well, still being under my $50 budget I was able to get a new H20 bottle and a spare tube. I was able to pick up a sandwich on my way home with the savings.
So though there may be good deals online sometimes, you can't find that kind of service on the internet

Bought my first bike shorts and took a 15 mile ride. So nice! I'm definitely sold on the bicycling-specific clothing, especially with this weather. Now to get a jersey instead of wearing these loose cotton t-shirts..

I've been on a spree the last few weeks:
BD Mercier Nano (mini-velo)
new rim tape
various size tubes
some metal tire levers (tired of bending the plastic kind)
a couple tube patch kits
Performance century shorts
Bosheild T-9
Planet Bike KOKO rear rack
several of the DX lockblock knock-offs (can never seem to have enough of these)
brown cycling cap
17t freewheel
1/8" KMC rust buster chain
and probably a couple other things that I don't recall right now

Getting ready for my ride on the GAP trail, I bought:
- Ortlieb classic rear rollers
- Racktime TourIt rack with ClampIt spring for the top
- Road Morph air pump
- Todson water bracket mount for the Road Morph (didn't want to lose a water bottle cage for the air pump
- Couple of C9 technical cloth t-shirts at Target
- Kryptonite cable lock to keep honest people honest
- My wife bought me a Road ID bracelet (I guess in case a bear gets me!!).
- New Pearl Izumi gloves.

I got a pair of Arkel T-42 rear panniers at the LBS today, to go with the T-28s I bought last week. For my upcoming touring rides I'm going to try keeping as much as I can inside panniers instead of on top of the rear rack. My tent without the poles, fits inside a front pannier with plenty of room to spare.

Mission workshop Vandal. Other than one thing, just perfect!
I wish mesh at the back had some better airflow but I am going to be sweating anyways...

Cable housing so I can swap around handle bars on a couple bikes and go with Aero levers and bar ends. Plan to wrap the cable all the way up to stem for a more clean look and so as not to interfer with the Campagne bage I run on two bikes and the Porteur rack going on the Fuji.
Searously thinking about buying the Scattante Cross frame. I have enough parts laying around to build it.
