'Twas a pretty smooth ride in today. The only problem I had was when a woman driving a white Chrysler 300m decided to occupy the same space as me. She pulled left into my lane without looking, and I had to do a fast drift into the next lane and hug the dotted line. I was completely flabbergasted. There I was, sitting in the middle of the lane, and oh, pardon me, I'm taking your space. Nice. Anyway, I made my light and didn't die. I obviously need to be more aggressive when I take the lane, perhaps laying down some caltrops or lighting things on fire.

no commute in today - a little sore from falling from a tree on Friday evening. Was trying to get a foam rocket that my son shot into the air and got stuck in the tree, when the branch I was on decided it didn't like me and tried to commit murder. my feet were about 8 feet off the ground - fell straight down and landed standing up. Other than a few nasty scrapes on my chest/arms and a very sore left ankle, I am fine. The ankle was still questionable this morning, so I took the day off.

I stayed at the girls house last night so the commute was increased from 1 mile to 10 miles. I left at 6:50am and got to my place 30 minutes later. I was pushing it hard but I'm glad I did it in such a short amount of time.

Almost got into an accident with an F150...he thought he could speed past me and make a sharp right turn to follow his buddy (i was in between the two). I swear, I'm about to just keep going and sue the **** out of the next person who hits me. I've been broadsided twice, run off a road, and cut off by a guy stopping so quickly I went through his back window, and all since late January. I do call the police, but I should also be calling a lawyer. I'll be talking to one shortly.

39F and calm. No incidents to report. It's as good as it gets on a Monday morning.

Is it a close call if I didn't have to bail out? Some clown in POS 80s sedan BLEW through a red light and had to swerve into oncoming traffic to miss me. He left a little rubber, so even though he was at least a foot from me when he swerved, margin-of-error-wise it seemed really close.

Otherwise a fine ride in misty sunshowery type of conditions.

I woke up early and didn't have any cereal so i had extra time and decided to walk to work. took about 40 mins. it was awesome though.

Man, my rides are so perfect everyday it gets boring to talk about. Sunny and warm; nice and smooth. Monday's are cool because I can chat up my ride buddy about his weekend mountain bike adventures. For a second I thought a right-hook was pending by a car speeding up to beat us to an on-ramp. At the last second he slowed and braked hard and waited for us to pass.

monday morning flats suck....

YOWZA! Today was the second best day of the year! Commuted in a nice and comfortable 55f. Which meant no winter gear. Yea! It's about time. This aftn. was out of this world. Rode home on the bikepath nice and slow. I had shorts, sleevless jersey and the sandals barefooted. I saw alot of walkers and bikers. I saw alot of bikers dressed as if it were 40degrees out there. Heck, it was 70f. Today was one of those days to hang loose. I rode up and down the Bikepath several times. I didn't want to quit, it felt so nice. I had the bike on the middle ring and just took my time. Listening to the radio and smoking cigarettes. ( I know, thats bad.) Stopped by the river and hung out. I just took my time heading home. Tom'rw is supposed to be even better. Tom'rw I have to stop by PerformanceBike and pick up another tail-light because I busted one off. 15% off on Tuesdays

I'm glad I rode in today, but the balance sheet is even. Morning route saw heavier than usual traffic and I wound up in the gutters a couple of times thanks to cars drifting right. On the way home, a typical Chicago wind: 20mph right in my face no matter which direction I'm going.

43 degrees and a light tail wind. I have a feeling that I'm going to miss commuting in this weather. It sucks for road rides, but it's absolutely perfect for the commute, particularly with regard to being able to haul ass and still arrive at work relatively dry.

Conditions around DC are similar today. 43F with scattered misty drizzles. Real nice weather for kickin' it. I don't time my rides, but this morning's run in was pretty quick.

In a word: Surreal.
I woke up early much too early and decided to head into work. It was completely dark at 5am when i left and there was patchy fog ranging from wispy to pea soup. My commute takes me through unlit country roads where the only light is what my halogens supply. In many areas i could only see a couple of meters ahead of me.

Today was great. I left at 7:30am, it was sunny and 71 degree's.

Good ride; uneventful; completely overcast and about 50 degrees. T-shirt and a windbreaker with slacks! 6 miles, 32 min door-to-door, 10-11 mph average.

Felt good. Passed a couple fellow SS/FG riders who were mashing it up the Williamsburg bridge.. meanwhile I was just pedaling normally. And I'm not even in shape! I guess a lot of people are just getting their bikes out for the spring, maybe. Pretty uneventful ride.. even more construction on Broadway now, but oh well.

Nice ride in this morning. First commuting ride of the season. It was nice to watch the city wake up (I'm at work by 7:00). I didn't want to ride teh 12.5 miles when I got up, but I convinced myself that I'd feel better later if I did. I was right.

37F and misty. Not bad.

Cool and breezy.

My legs were a bit heavy from running yesterday afternoon but they responded well. My buddy and I made good time despite the headwind on the first part of the route. The tailwind section was like pure heaven, rolling along at 22, up on the hoods, and chatting about our kids and work and the Tour of Flanders.

A great way to start the day.

Mid 30s. Headwind. Not too bad. Nice and sunny. Saw a couple of cyclists. One blew through a stop sign, headed downhill even. Not sure what the point was.

Rain rain rain. Man, it's been raining since Monday. Every commute is wet and a bit cold, and frankly rather miserable. Especially when my stuff doesn't dry out fully at work during the day, and I'm putting on damp clothes to ride home.

Another peeve - the street lights are out on the section of MUP that leads onto Pyrmont Bridge from the city. It's next to a road with oncoming traffic coming up a incline, which means you get very dazzled by oncoming lights. It was virtually impossible to see anything on that path last night - had to go literally at a slow walking pace to make sure I didn't ram a ped. All of whom were wearing black, of course.

Sunny and a little windy in the low 40's. Only problem was the Red Sox fans leaving the opening day game. Made for a lot of traffic, both pedestrian and auto, but since they won, I was happy to put up with the traffic.

20 MPH tailwind in the AM and 15-20 headwind in the PM. Short enough ride I didn't wimp out and load my bike on a bus.
