I would bid on the eBay auction if nobody else on this list wanted it. I don't really need another bike, but it would be good to keep it "in the family". I'll ask about the mileage. They say it is still working and was maintained, so it depends how bad someone wants it.

Metalman,
welcome back to the club.
I have now two Epluses, summer and winter.
Did you have off road FALCO 750W?
How does off-road FALCO behave at 28mph in comparison with EPLUS at 28mph --interested to know.
All I know that even at 30mph EPLUS still draws 1200-1300W according to display/controller.
Thermal cut offs are other issues I already read about, I know about them.
I am interested what happens when it reaches 28mph.
How is it with off-road FALCO?

Don't want to derail the thread, but I'm about 80 miles north of San Diego which, AFAIK, is where E+ was located. However, there never seem to be anything for sale even though I check from time to time. There must be a lot of parts (or bikes) around; why aren't people selling them (still using, saving for when they appreciate in price or ????)?

2old,
you are not derailing anything, thank you for input.
You right, there must be hundreds of EPLUS ebikes all accross USA , but some of them only in any working shape.
Many are with dead batteries.
Where I live Canada many people recklessly leave bikes for winter outside even in snow , how would you expect them to plug in charger couple of time during winter ??? they are reckless... and wasteful /how Alberta managed to accumulate multibillion deficit when barrel was 150USD?? at the sametime Norway at the SAME time saved 100billion USD in OilFund??/
also
we forget that EPLUS chargers fail at alarming rate and this even farther increase number of dead EPLUSes in NAmerica.
Of course very few would advertise broken stuff for sale, right? So trick is LOCATE those EPLUSes,but how ?
from sales records only.

Powell, thanks for the interesting input. You're right, sales records would be good, but everyone that sold them is out of business AFAIK. I was under the impression that some shops bought up the inventory when E+ was going under, but they must have sold their bikes/parts.

I had a list of Eplus dealers at least partial list , send emails couple of them, they answered back that they sold out long time ago.
By sales records I ment info on Eplus customers.
My first EPLUS I bought from JV Bikes, Vancouver and I bet they still have my address, tel on file.
Such a big crime to pass on tel. of client?

IF you got tired of braking down original EMS chargers here is the one which works with our EPLUSes.
I have initial reservation but hooked up to hub battery and it looks like it charges, it is less complicated than EMS charger for sure
it uses rise in temperature over time to detect end of charge and 8-hours time out.
Anyway charger works
EMS batt electronics registered charge and displayed 5 bars.
CE Mark Desktop NiMH or NiCad 30 cell with peak detect, )

PowerStream charger connects to E+ battery electronics which contain not one , not two , not three but 6 thermistors. Every 5-cell module has thermistor on small board called sense board, those thermistors are connected in series/paraller combination of around 15-18ohms.
I am sure any NMH 30-cell chemistry charger will work on our Epluses , first thing to check is thermistor requirement for such charger is.
Most NMH chargers require 10 -15Kohms thermistor as standard.

Like with all switch mode power supplies/chargers heat causes failures.
First thing when I get fully enclosed power supply/charger is to drill holes all around side of plastic enclosure like
2-3mm holes.
This increase longevity a lot ,
this PowerStream charger has no fun and enclosure is sealed - very bad for cooling.
So open it, drill plenty of small holes and it will last for sure longer.
