I've never had trouble with the touch screen in my Edge. You almost never have to touch anything very small; you can swipe your finger across the screen to change pages instead of hitting the little buttons on the bottom. Works fine with the gloves I ride in in the winter, and I don't get any false touches from the rain. You need to be more precise to set up your data screens but how often do you do that?

I got mine about five years ago. Still going.
