Velo Computer is junk
I have a Bontrager Node 1.1 that I set up with a VeloComputer VC5.1.1 magnetless hub sensor. The combination worked for exactly four miles, then the Velo died. (Fast blinking, no data transmission) No way to contact the manufacturer for assistance. Forty bucks worth of garbage.

A number of us have had problems making it work in a variety of configurations and where it conflicts with other sensors. Tech support is non-existent and is a one man band sort of company. Great idea, incomplete execution. Right now, if you want magnet less sensors that are BTLE and ANT+, Wahoo Fitness is the place to go.

I know you have the Garmin sensor now, those work great. I have the Wahoo Speed/RPM sensors and can confirm that those work great too.

Yes, I got one for $35 dollars of Amazon and ended up returning it in frustration. Wrote a bad review on Amazon, and got a reply where the manufacturer essentially blamed everyone else but his own crappy product.

So, it's a great idea with a lousy implementation and even worse technical support. Really worth staying a way from this product, in my view.

Boy, you guys nailed it exactly. Velo is crap, and the manufacturer is a fly by night. Got the Garmin today. How nice that it has a real instruction book, and it blinks red when the battery needs replacing. Paired it up today and it works great.
