Cycle computer interference.
I've noticed a problem today with my front light (Bike Hut, Halfords own brand afaik) and my cycle computer (Bontrager trip 4w, wireless). When I put the front light on the computer doesn't pick anything up from the wheel sensor, when the front light is flashing the computer picks that up and gives me a stationary speed of 17mph..
I noticed this while going down a shadowy lane today, as I knew i wasn't doing 25mph when I looked down at it.
So I tried it with the light static, and when i moved off I got no information, turning the light off fully fixed these problems.
At the moment these are both adjacent on my handlebars, I haven't tried moving them further apart yet, though that is the next port of call.
My question is this: Is this a normal occurence, and if it ends up that I have to buy a new light are there any designs / brands where this will still occur? Any input will be appreciated, thanks.

This might be a clue, I'm not sure. I can put my phone next to my cyclometer at stationary and register 59 mph.
When I was living in Seattle, downtown where the rf is heavy from the metro transit monitoring, I would always get weird readings. I had a VDO 10+ then.

I had this problem when i put my led light in flash mode...... I fixed it by putting the speedo on the left side of the bar (as the sensor and sensor magnet were on the left side of my wheel ) and putting the light on the right hand side....... basically making sure the light does not iterfere with the line of sight from the wireless sensor on the fork and the speedo itself

Same problem with cateye strada wireless and NiteRider Classic. Computer does not work when light is in any blink mode or any low watt setting. Mileage reading using 12w does not match mileage reading using 20w. Neither matched daytime (no light on bicycle) mileage. Day to day readings varied by 0.25 miles for a 15 mile route.
I have a cateye strada wired on my new bicycle. The mileage matches to within 0.01 miles for the same 15 mile route.
