I got two in a box on Saturday. They look nice, can't wait to try them out. Thanks GeoManGear!

thanks for sharing, I guess there's hope
been wondering when I would get mine
when I asked they said it's coming it's coming
they also mentioned some issues with the early batteries they shipped and that were working on that

I sent my original battery back 4/20 and received the replacement today. I plugged in the original charger and the red LED lit. Three hours later the LED turned green. I plugged it in the light head and everything seems to work as it should.

I may try to test it later. Any suggestions for testing?

Good answer. Problem is I'm still recovering from a ride this morning.

I went ahead and set the light up with a good fan blowing on it. It's been running an hour without a problem.

Update: The battery ran the light on high for 2 1/2 hours. Good enough for me.

I got mine back on Saturday. It was fully topped off when I got it. I've been riding for two days on it now though the draw is quite low now, I have the taillight on for about 90 minutes a day, and the headlight on low in the morning, and on flash only at certain parts of my ride at night. The battery looks incredibly solid. I wish they'd say whether it was rain proof though. It looks like it is, but they don't say.

Well, assume it isn't ... and that's nothing some saran wrap and packing tape won't fix in five minutes.

Got mine earlier this week. I sent in my form the day after I got it but I don't remember exactly when that was.

I'd be surprised if these aren't waterproof or at least significantly water resistant looking at the construction.

Probably about the same time I sent my battery back - the third week in April.

So I just heard that I might have to wait 16 weeks for my replacement battery. Wondering if I should just buy a new one from Geomangear. Then when I get my replacement I'll have two.

IMHO, I would not buy the battery alone. The Geoman battery alone cost $70. For an extra $20, you can get the MS900 lightset with a GMG battery for $90.

If you want to spend less, there are other choices. The battery from Bikerayusa will work fine with the MS900. It cost only $30. It does not have the solid housing but it is 5.2 amp-hr rated. You will need to email Bikeray to order the battery.

Also from Bikerayusa are their used Bikeray II demo sale. It is a light kit with the battery for $70. The Bikeray I has better throw while the II is about the same as the MS900.

Anyone of these choices will leave you with an extra lightset when your recall battery arrived.

thanks colleen. your suggestion makes sense. looks like the new head has only one strobe mode but they don't say if it's the fast strobe (I liked) or the weird SOS strobe that the old one also had.

Where did you hear that? I sent my paperwork in about a month ago after taking it to the recycling place.

Another option is to get a tail light with battery and charger - about $60........

today by email from the company:

We apologize for this automatic reply but we are being swamped by requests for
information about the recall battery replacement schedule.

We have had a huge response to the recall. There are multiple steps involved
after the recall administrator receives your claim form from verifying your
name, address, PIN and number of batteries against our order database, to
scanning and attaching your signed claim form to the database that is provided
to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, to creating the XML data format
to handle the shipping aspect of this process.

Based on the expert?s best estimates of batteries needed for the recall, we
placed our first order for our custom designed, fully tested battery packs in
January and received these packs in late April. The claims filed have greatly
exceeded the estimates and we have placed our next order for batteries to
continue fulfilling claims. Unfortunately, we have recently learned that the
Japanese natural disasters have seriously affected the supply of the Panasonic
cells used in our battery packs and the production time has increased from six
weeks to sixteen weeks.

Because Geomangear is a small, family owned company we must rely on sales to
support this very expensive recall program (now in excess of $750,000 dollars).
This means that we must continue in business selling bike equipment so that we
can order and send more batteries to customers who have filed claims.

All of these issues affect when you will receive your replacement battery. We
are trying our best but this process will take time and we don't yet have an
answer to your question.

If your question is not about the replacement battery schedule we will do our
best to send you a personalized answer as soon as possible. We ask for your
patience and understanding.

Geomangear Team
