Bike Computer/App - I'm so confused
I just want to keep track of my heart rate, speed, distance and map my runs. Calorie counting would also be great. I have an iPhone 5s, if that is deemed to be beneficial or not. It would be great if all of this can come together on one computer, app or website.
I am 44 yrs old and am just getting back into biking after 20 years. I am not clueless when it comes to computers and smartphones. I am just very confused. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should put this whole thing together for my new bike? Thank you in advance for suggestions.
Other question: Is a bluetooth heart rate monitor more beneficial to me than one that comes with a watch?

Just to give you some ideas, here are some iphone-related products from Wahoo Fitness: Products
(I haven't used these, but Wahoo is a major manufacturer of such devices).
Typically, you would have a heart rate monitor, and speed/cadence sensor that communicate with your phone. Your phone has Bluetooth LE (aka Bluetooth 4.0), so the sensors you get should be compatible with that standard. Then you need phone apps to make it all work (if you go with Wahoo, they have an app for their stuff). Hopefully someone more informed on those will be along to help.
Edit: The page I linked shows an RFLKT bike computer, which is probably nice to have but not really necessary to do what you want.

You can so all of that with Cyclemeter from Abvio |. Go and get a Wahoo Fitness blue tooth heart rate monitory and you're all set. Best out there.
When you want to, you can then add a cadence and wheel speed sensor (also from Wahoo Fitness, bluetooth version) and you'll be able to keep all that data too.

I went ahead and got the wahoo heart rate strap and wahoo blue speed and cadence sensor. I'm going to get the RFLKT, not the RFLKT+. Since I have wahoo hr strap and speed and cadence sensor, I'm assuming I do not need the ANT+ that comes with the RFLKT+. Lastly, I'm hoping I can connect my bluetooth headphones while everything else is connected for use with the RFLKT. No one at Apple has a clue about these devices
My LBS also didn't seem to know much about the RFLKT

You will find that battery life can be challenging for longer rides. Then a battery to charge your phone can be handy. I found this one which looked interesting.
BikeCHARGE Power Pack
I use the ibattz Refuel pack but I don't think that would work for the iPhone 5C only the 5/5s
