Yup. Almost all the glaciers are gone, millions of acres of drought weakened pines are dead from beetle attack, I regularly ride my bicycle in January. Things they are a changin'. I've been here on and off since 1962, and my family had a coal mine near Boulder in the 1890's.
You folks in Georgia might ask, "Rain? What's that?"

While I think that is still the case in north GA, down here in the midstate, or drought ended several weeks ago and we have been getting rain fairly often. In fact, I think we are in for a couple of wet days starting tonight. But with temps ranging from the 50s to the 80s, we won't be seeing anything frozen unless it comes from the freezer.

Yes, Lakes Allatoona and Lanier, both north of Atlanta are in terrible shape due to lack of rain and increasing demand for water. People have to drink, but I'd rather see a few brown lawns than to not have oysters in Appalchicola.

Snow???? It's been so long since we had precipitation, I'd be happy if it rained. I never thought I would pray for a hurricane to hit my area, but we need something to bring precipitation fast.

It's 0642, 76* and raining here and has been all week. It's brought the bike riding and tree house building to a halt not to mention what little work I do. It did snow here Christmas '04. I pulled up stakes and moved further south the following year ( 1 mile ).

No snow here in central Washington yet, except for up in the high mountains. Probably won't get any for another month or so. Snow here just means switching over to my mountain bike for the commute to work and seeing people's jaws drop when I arrive on a two-wheeler.

No snow here - but the cycling gang here are all enthusiastic because the temperature is now down below 100 degrees F when we kick off for a morning weekend ride at 6.30 am. Tomorrow (weekend here is Friday and Saturday) we're all off for a metric century.
But - last weekend my stoker bride and I went skiing in Dubai in a big cold slanting shed. Not in anyway ecological or responsible - but Blimey, it was fun

I live in central Florida (just north of Orlando) and I have yet to see snow down here. I did read in the paper that we have had some in years past. But I don't count a flake in the air as "snow". For something to be "snow" there has to be meaningful accumulation.

81F here in Parker yesterday, 29F right now, several inches of snow. Instead of riding this am, I took a 3 mile "snow walk" from 7-8am. I enjoy walking in the snow. What a wonderful change of seasons! My wife and I are going out for another snow walk in just a minute. It is quite "slushy" right now.
