I hurt all over today.
My referred pain from my back is killing both legs, despite all my stretching and other exercises. I pulled a muscle somewhere on my right hip area. It makes me walk funny and hurts when I walk. My atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia "TN (Trigeminal Neuralgia) Description / Definition TN (Trigeminal Neuralgia) is a nerve disorder of unknown origin that causes sudden shock-like facial pains, typically near the nose, lips, eyes or ears. It is said to be the most excruciatingly painful human condition in the world." http://www.fpa-support.org/aboutfp/i...ml#Description is shooting excruciating pain into my face. For today, I am going to do no exercise except some stretching. My body is screaming out for a rest. Sometimes that is the best. |
I have been resting all week.
Feels good. |
I got in 36 miles today and that put me at 976 miles this month, I have tomorrow to get 1000! woohooo. This is my best month yet!

Did a 100 miler today on my Bacchetta Corsa (recumbent). FWIW, I am retired. ;)

Tomorrow I'm going on a fifty miler even though I don't feel suited for it, will get dropped on a no-drop ride, and will return back with a crushed soul and a very sore neck. That will bring my monthly mileage up to 300, which will be my second highest ever. And that's with me working kind of part-time in the big scheme of things. You boys are hardcore. |

That's a lot of riding if you have a job or family (even on the flats).
I ride as soon as I get home from work for anywhere from 25 to 35 miles. I get home 3:45 and am on the road around 4. Weekends are bigger rides and this month I had two 100+ milers so that helped a lot. Sundays are my big days though, I leave early when it is cool and quiet. |
43.4 miles today despite a late start. It was cloudy all day with threat of rain that never took place. Hopefully, it does not rain tomorrow and if I go for a ride, I'll have over 700 miles for the month.

34 relatively easy miles today. Tried to work on improving my pedal stroke some. I got lost somewhere east of saint paul, but kept going and found my way home. I'll do a modest ride tomorrow and that will put me over 600 miles for the month. 1000 miles kr32? That's dedication - you rock.

12.7 miles in 44 minutes today. The usual Friday "40 min easy spin" ride. Recovery week ends tomorrow with a 2 hr Z2 little ring ride. Master's Nationals next week then the process to switch over to cyclocross season. Now that I've got my ankle screwed shut I'll have to begin working in some 50 meter hill sprints and running over 14" barriers while carrying a bike in my hands.:)

I do work and I am single so there's that in my riding favor.

Took the day off after getting soaked last night on the way home. Did get in 80 miles over the three days however.
|
42 miles with two riding buddies this AM.

53 mile club ride today. "a few gentle climbs" = a big bunch of hills but none violent enough to rip your lungs out.
This is after commuting to work the previous 4 days - the most consecutive days in recent years. Having one less car will do that to you. Our son is flying to NE next week to drive back our repaired Vibe that hit a deer in NH a month ago. The deer's insurance has been less than helpful. :twitchy: |
36 fun solo miles
|
Thanks everyone for the award, if one were to be given. I did do it too, 36 more miles today for a total of 1012 for the month.
Not too sure I can repeat either. That is a lot of miles. Oh and my lawn looks like crap! |
I didn't sleep well last night and thought about spending the day (or at least the afternoon) on the sofa. Finally got my fat backside out the door around noon. Did 25 miles. My average speed was slower than usual. :o Wonder why?
Since it is/was a warm day (89F when I left home) I didn't see many other cyclists heading out. Most were on their way home. |
63 miles and 6000' of climbing at the Roan Moan Metric this morning. The climb up to Carver's Gap, 7.5 miles and 2500' was tough as always. The wind was blowing up there in the clouds and the temp was in the low 50s. Glad I carried arm warmers and a vest for the descent.
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/42583392 It was a moderately paced ride today. If I don't lose some weight all the rides will be at a moderate pace. :( |

You get the "Daring Old Pedaling Experience Rules" award, or as The Weak Link would say DOPER. I am surprised he did not give it to you at first chance. Ride on.

I got my "50 mile club ride" in and my soul was not crushed. Amazing.
At mile 8 a young woman cyclist skidded off a steep twisty road and knocked herself silly in a ditch. 911 was called and she did OK. A third of the riders were spooked enough that they turned around and went back. Not me. I was the last of the push-ahead riders to leave the scene and I resigned to ride in solitude, none too happy about it either. I caught up 17 miles later and ended up having a very pleasant ride. Then I went to White Castles where I negated any health benefits that I gained on the ride. But it tasted good. For hours. |
38 miles, including a 25 mile club ride, plus there and back to the start. This is a regular Saturday morning ride that I haven't done since mid-June. There's a good-sized hill half-way through where normally I get dropped, but I"m pleased to report that today I was about 3rd to reach the top. Nothing like progress you can measure....
Tomorrow I'm planning on a 66 mile club ride, plus 10 miles there and back to the start. I hope my legs don't give out. |
