The procrastination in the morning has to stop. I waited till 9 AM this morning before leaving the house for a ride. I was able to get 21 miles in and I was happy to be out riding. The next time I stopped playing these excuses games I’m gonna have to remind myself. I really want to be out riding.

Got in 19 miles this morning. Near perfect day, which is rare in December.

Wanted to usher in the FULL MOON so got out at 2:04am this morning under cloudy skies that began supplying a constant mist until shortly before 4:01AM when the MOON was FULL. Slowly completed the 24.42 mile ride a little bit wetter than when I began.

My wife wanted to get out on her Marin bike today for the first time in a while, so I escorted her for 13 miles. The south wind was a bit of a pain, but 73 degrees in December was something we couldn't pass up.

essiemyra 12-16-24 07:38 PM

I was able to get out and ride this morning by 8:15 am. No time spent hemming and hawing. I rode for 25 miles.

Jtmav 12-17-24 02:47 PM

Got outside for 15 miles this morning, first time in a while. Been riding indoors because of the cold and not posting. Unseasonably high 50s today with a pretty good wind but at least warmer. Hope everyone’s having a good week.

essiemyra 12-17-24 03:18 PM

I got out later today but not due to hemming and hawing, due to having a plumber coming to the house and needing to wait for him. Anyway, right after he left so did I. I got a 25 mile ride in today, but did not make my goal of riding to the Long Center. I took a left when I should have taken more of a right. So I never made the yoga class I had intended to make. I will try again another day.

No.

I didn't.

Wanted to though.

Had planned on doing a Rouvy trainer session this afternoon, took a nap instead.

Seems I got 'hand-shaked' something noxious @ work, several co-workers have been wheezing & coughing... just a matter of time I guess despite my best efforts at staying well clear.

pepperbelly 12-17-24 05:53 PM

It was 70° today, cloudy with a very light breeze.
I only did a single 6 mile loop around the lake but after adjusting my seat height I felt like I could do more. I just didn’t want to push it my first time out in a couple of weeks.
I do enjoy the smell of fresh fallen wet leaves.

missinglink 12-17-24 08:27 PM

I hadn't planned to ride today, but with a front forecast to come in overnight, I decided to get a rare afternoon ride in.
The wind was getting pretty gusty, but I managed to do a tad over 12 miles.

I really enjoy seeing trails from other states. Ohio is really beautiful.
We need a photo thread for cyclists to post pics of their favorite trails.
I’m having a procedure tomorrow but I will be back riding Friday. I will find someplace to take a pic.

Jtmav 12-19-24 06:47 AM

I agree, that looks like a beautiful trail. Thanks for the pix!

Well, our little gym at work is messed up. We are having basement work done and the dust it kicked up made a real mess of it. I reluctantly set up the bike trainer at home using my old Chiorda. I did 45 minutes last night, somewhere in the area of 12 miles.

This is the most challenging time of the year with the cold and dark. I dont like these indoor rides much, but I feel glad after I complete one. I have been riding the Mtn Bike to work and back a lot of days, which is just 5 blocks each way with a small hill, but I like at least a little real riding.

I got out this morning a little later than I wanted but got some necessary chores regarding our trailer completed. So I got a 19.2 mile ride in and I rode to the Aging well center for the yoga class. I need to find another five miles to add into the ride. I will keep looking.

Doc Sharptail 12-20-24 09:37 PM

Just 6 miles today with some running around up-town. Probably walked another 2-4 miles.

Grocery run today with just 12 quite slow miles.
No photo's today- I didn't even pack the phone.
Still glad I did it. Any ride time is great these days.

On the road at 12:29am this morning with temperature at 48℉ and feeling like 42℉. Moon super bright at 54.5% illumination of 3rd quarter. 3 sightings of coyotes running around plus 1 racoon, a RK opossum and numerous rabbits. Nice having some cooler weather but expect it to be back 80℉+ soon.

essiemyra 12-22-24 02:16 PM

I got a late start today due to the colder temperatures this morning. I waited for 60 degrees and headed out on the bike. I got 20 miles so that is an okay start for the week. I saw something that reminded me of snow.

I took a rest day to watch the Viking game (Yay!) and help make gingerbread cookies. Both turned out great :thumb:

Spending the winter in Tucson. 49 miles on The Loop in warm sunshine.

Back on the bike today after a two week break due to a very successful medical procedure! 31 miles. I’m within shouting distance of 6K miles this year! 206 miles left to go! Up from 1450 last year.
