Dang Doo, you are WAY ahead of yourself! I grew up in Benbrook.

Doohickie 08-18-11 01:26 PM

Oh, and you need to check in and register.

John_V 08-18-11 06:44 PM

Got in 15 miles in my after work ride before the rain came. First ride since Sunday due to rain. I posted some photos of the park that I ride at here.

rck 08-18-11 06:52 PM

20 road miles. I had forgotten what it was like to ride the road as most of the last month or so has been on the rail trail. Did you know that the road is not neccessarily flat?:(

No ride today. I'm sitting in a hotel room in downtown Montreal to attend a wedding. I'm really jealous of the bike lane and pathway system they have here. They don't have half the amount of traffic as they do in Toronto so I guess it was easier to put in.

JanMM 08-18-11 08:12 PM

Got in an 18 mile ride this evening at a fast-for-me average just shy of 17mph.

rdtompki 08-18-11 08:47 PM

Took the stoker to lunch, an 18 mile r/t, relatively flat as we rest up for a 100K on Saturday. I was just grateful to get one ride in since last weekend given how busy work has been. Of course our weather is perfect.

We did 20 miles of country roads this morning. Another beautiful day here in Indiana!

John00 08-19-11 10:49 PM

48 miles on a beautiful day. I stopped three time to feast on the wild black berries that are very ripe and all over these days. Didn't really need an energy bar to fuel me today.

JanMM 08-20-11 11:20 AM

Friday: Took my stoker on an 18 mile Screamer ride.
Today: Another tandem ride - a CIBA breakfast ride to Morgantown where 15 of us overwhelmed a very small eating place. Sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was good - might have taken in more calories than I burned in spite of several significant hills. 40 miles total.

MinnMan 08-20-11 11:31 AM

55 miles, including 45 with the club. A brisk hilly ride that started out with about a dozen that stayed together through the first half of the ride and then fell into a fast and slow group. I've been off the bike for a week and maybe that's why I felt like I had lost a step on the hills, but it was great to be riding again.

BluesDawg 08-20-11 11:45 AM

My wife and I took the tandem out for a short ride to make sure it still works and see how much we have forgotten about riding it since 2007. It went pretty smoothly, but I'll be making several adjustments to make it more comfortable.

CbadRider 08-20-11 02:48 PM

I did my local group ride. 50 miles and 4300 ft of climbing. I'm toast right now.

John_V 08-20-11 04:11 PM

Did my normal Saturday morning club ride. The ride leader changed the route and added a few more miles to it. Did a very nice 22 mile ride through downtown Tampa, along our bay shore and through the islands. Fantastic morning weather but it's raining pretty hard right now.

Off to the other end of town tomorrow morning to ride a different MUP.

DnvrFox 08-20-11 05:20 PM

7 miles with the wife, 17 more miles by myself. BEAUTIFUL weather.

Shifty 08-20-11 06:04 PM

I rode from Eugene to Corvallis and back for 101 miles. Such a nice ride up in the foothills with a few hills to warm the legs, a burrito in Corvallis then a ride through the farms with a steady tailwind. Nice day for it, so big fun!

Oh man, you make me miss Eugene. What an unbelievable place to ride in the summer. In the old days I didn't ride for pleasure in the winter - just commuting. Now I think I'd probably figure out how to do more year-round riding.

62+ miles in the Arizona desert heat. I left early (4AM) but it was still hot. Garmin temp at start was temp from inside the house. This was a hard ride both for my sore ankle and me as I have been off the bike for quite a while waiting for my ankle to heal.

I had to look up your location, Manderley to see where you were doing all that climbing. You have a great sense of Humor. You also can do a lot of climbing. Good going.

105 Miles and 9400 ft of climbing

65 mile organized ride on the tandem. Mostly rolling hills, but some short very steep pitches (>15%) that are senior-citizen-tandem-rider killers. A stop at a grocery store for tums, gatorade and potatoe chips restored my cramping legs to some level of usefulness and we finished the last 25 miles of the ride; 'course I snap off the left shift lever on my Chorus shifters:(

Mountain bike ride today for a couple of hours.
My mountain bike is out on sick leave (front shock issues, poor baby :() so my boss at the bike shop said to take the Santa Cruz Tallboy 29er. Well, I was not going to say no! This was my first time on a bike with 29"wheels. I don't think 29" wheels are anything special on flat trails, but get them on technical stuff and, wow, they roll over stuff like nobody's business.

53 miles all by my lonesome this morning. The weather started out beautiful but I ran into a pretty intense 20-minute shower just before the half-way point, and then had a flat at about mile 35. But I still had a great time, found a decent breakfast ride destination about 21 miles away from home, and saw some completely new countryside. New to me - I'm sure the countryside has been around for a few years already.

DEK 08-21-11 12:49 PM

43 miles this morning with BF member John_V and his wife. Made for a very nice morning ride.
