Did a No Breakfast Test Ride.
Ate at 9 mi and at 27 mi. 43 miles and my energy level was -0-. Don't try that. Got in 47 miles. I not only eat breakfast before any ride, I eat a pbj before heading out if it has been more than 2 hours since breakfast. |

I rode 24 mi today on the Schuylkill River trail in Montgomery Co., Pa. It was very pleasant riding along the river, and I enjoyed the fall foliage, although we've yet to hit the peak colors here in Southeastern, Pa. This was the longest I've ridden on my "new" bike, and I think I got the fit adjusted just about right.

Did 21 instead of my 20 as I had to detour because of some road work on my route. Didn't feel like it was a great ride, but I still managed an overall average of 16.5--so it was good. It was only a couple or few weeks ago that I hit 16.3 as an avg.

Ride was super this afternoon, a mild headwind going North. Managed to hold 15.5 - 14.0 MPH for the entire ride. Not in most of yalls league but for me an accomplishment. It feels so good. Missed my riding partner while she went to the county fair with her mom. Saw another rider on a sweet Bianchi as I was returning, need to talk to him about riding together:thumb:.

Took a ride on the East Bay bike path in Rhode Island with my wife today. She has had back surgery and lost some leg strength. We went 13 miles in about an hour and a half. Longest ride she has been able to complete since the surgery!

Took a 47 mile ride this past Sunday from Riegelsville PA to Stockton NJ. It was a cool 42 degrees starting out, but warmed up nicely by noon when the ride was over.
|
Yep, rode 20 miles this morning(cool 52°F to start and was up to 56° at finish).
|
For the second day in a row, I rode 24 mi along the Schuylkill River Trail in the Valley Forge (Pa.) area. What a glorius day for a ride--deep blue sky, lots of sunshine, temperature pleasantly Autumn cool. I wish I owned a digital camera so that I could have taken some photographs to share with the readers, here.

Ate breakfast. 70 miles today. Five riders. Still too hot.

Today was an extra practice day in preparation for an upcoming presentation with 2 new songs for my singing gospel group, so I got up at 5:30, rode on the mtn bike with lights to the rec center, swam for 45 minutes, rode to McD's for a fruit and yogurt parfait and a burrito, then rode several miles to the practice house. Practiced aout 1.5 hours and rode home. As the ride is all up from my house it was all downhill back, which I enjoy.
We have HEAVY snow forecast tonight - up to 12 inches through tomorrow, and temps dropping to 12-17F. |
5 miles... early morning... wtw (with the wife)

Back on the bike for the first time since heart surgery 7 weeks ago. Yeah! Only 12 miles and 470 feet of climb but it felt great. New bike is stiffer and twitchier than the old Robuaix, but it goes up great. The 16 lbs. I lost help a lot too. It is just great to be out again. Woo Hoo!

10 miles on trail and subdivision in our newfound autumn. Yesterday, 77 and sunny. Today, 52 with drizzle and a strong north wind. Illinois, the land of contrasts
|
Ran some errands. 26 miles.
|
30 miles and rear wheel is making weird noises. I just had them trued a week ago. I think they may need to be looked at again. It sounds as if the spokes are rubbing against each other. Bad tension maybe? Sounds horrible
|
We did our usual out and back route. Beautiful weather again, 71 F, mild wind, no headwind either leg. Great to ride again.

Yesterday: Rode to and from work. Even though my computer suffered from dead battery syndrome, I will state that my commute was 19.5 miles, since that's about what it always is.
Today: About 10 miles before dinner. Since I put on fenders prior to the ride, there was not a drop from the sky. It's raining now. |

20.1 miles at 12.7 mph avg. New bike is faster than the Trek 520 Touring!! Had the bike less than a month and have almost 200 miles on it so far. Loving it! You bet!

Still too hot at 88*.
66 miles 4 riders. |
Went for bloodwork this morning and then did 20 miles today.
|
Chilly and blustery today(44°F(7°C)) and did my 20. Tomorrow I take a rest day, but Sunday, brrrrrrr, it's supposed to be around 38°F(3°C) around the time I generally ride--It'll be time to wear the new Pearl Izumi Softshell Jacket.

20 mile test ride on a Volagi. Temps got up to low 70's. Very nice machine.
|
Bike-commuted today. 20 miles. About 40F this morning and 50's this afternoon. I could live with that all winter but, alas, it's all downhill from here. Not in a good way.
