Started out at 43°F with a blustery wind(wind chill 37°) and ended around 48°(wind chill around 42°). Wind just chewed my butt up. Most directions I was going the wind was blasting me and slowed me way down. Did 23 miles in 1 hr 29 min. I haven't been that slow in a long time.

20 miles on the badger trail with the temp around 40. I should have gone in the AM when it was 26 and the trail would have been a bit firmer, however, given the time of year, I shouldn't complain.

10 miles in surrounding countryside,
temps upper 30's, with,
oddly enough, little wind.

First ride in almost 2 months. Didn't ride while Grampa was homebound from rotator cuff surgery. We walked every day, but he couldn't ride, and he didn't like being left behind. He's finally driving, so while he was out, I did a couple of miles in the neighborhood. My gosh, I'm out of shape. I need to find a way to cover my nose and mouth so the cold air doesn't trigger an asthma attack. And I need some long pants that don't have floppy legs. In spite of the difficulties, it was great to be zipping along our road on a sunny, 40 degree day.

just a 15 miler with an elevation gain of 900' at dinner (lunch for city folk) time. What a good way to spend an hr.

23 miles today with chilly air and a lot of wind. Started out at 40° with a wind chill making it feel like 33°. Did better today than yesterday, 15.5mph overall compared to 15.3, but still far from the 16+ I usually do.

19 miles-37deg, sunny with a bit of a breeze. I'm thinking a touch shorter would have been okay as I started to chilll the last couple of miles. I'd try and add a layer of clothing but I'd be immobile!

4 riders, 85 miles.
Encountered two cows that were on the outside of a fence.
The Horned one Charged Dave.
It came out on the road, Lined up directly behind him.
Lowered its head, dug in with the front hoofs, slipped then went off to the right.

I rode twice today!
Did a 48 mile ride with a big group from the cycle club. Came home, played guitar for an hour, then when my wife got back from her brunch did a 20 mile ride with her.
[edit: My wife just informed me that we were doing 20 miles of intervals. I just thought she was trying to kill me...]

33 mile club ride this afternoon with about 30 others on a cloudy 50ish day. In spite of having ridden little since last Saturday, was able to average 16.5mph. Feeling a little stronger late in the season; was able to pull several others for a few miles into a headwind. Same experience last Saturday on that windy ride. It's not just my brute strength; the aero advantage of this recumbent is quite noticeable in headwinds, especially as I am riding with the seat reclined a bit more.

I got out a bit late in the afternoon, rode 27 miles today. I bought a small rechargable headlight yesterday and used it for about the last 30 minutes of the ride. I also came across a guy going in the other direction, riding a mountain bike. This was on a pretty deserted stretch of road that gets closed down once it snows. We got to chatting and he said he was surprised we had not run in to each other before. He rides a 35 mile loop most days and lives about 3 miles from me. I usually never ride the same route twice in a row, or even a week apart, but we are on the same streets a lot. I'm sure I'll run in to him again, maybe we can plan a ride sometime.

It was about 42* & sunny today. undershirt, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve & a jacket, winter weight tights, smart wool socks, fleece headband, long fingered gloves. Rode the 2 miles to the start of the rail trail, warmed up nicely by the time I got there. Met my friend Beth & son, put son in trailer, rode the RT to the end, stayed pretty warm all the way down, turned around, about 1/3rd of the way back started to get cold, kept getting colder, and colder, sprinted ahead & rode back in attempt to warm up, helped a bit, but not enough, sun getting low, only a few miles to go, toughed it out, toes frozen, fingers frozen, back cold, holy toledo! Sun setting by the time we got back, Beth gave me a ride home in her nice warm truck, ahhh, walking up steps with icicle toes is tricky. 27 miles total.
