I have been riding about 20-30 miles almost every day, but just don't post here any longer.

Commute to work - 15 miles each way - on the way home i got stung on the left side of my face by some sort of stinging bug as I was doing about 22 mph down a hill.

Bikes: Cannondale MT1000 (1986 "birthday" for him!) Dawes Giro 500 (also 80's) Ridgeback Voyager (2010/11 model)

looked like no riding after eyes dilated in morning for checkup....

but come afternoon sight 20 20 again and needed to use bike for some shopping, which fortunately resulted in about ten miles with climb to LBS cafe at end. Highly enjoyable, all the more for being a suprise and glorious weather here in UK!

Oh yeah, and got the shopping I was after too...

This ride was so much fun. The climb cleared gave my legs a reason to get out of bed, and about 15 mi. later I sort of "woke up" after I turned a corner. Just the right amount of brain rest I needed. And got my legs a little buzzed as well.

26 miles with a friend. He was on his 'bent, so I couldn't draft too much to avoid the wind from the frontal passage that went through while we rode. Something about being 6'2" on a 61cm frame behind a 'bent... not much draft there!

We made to back to our cars just as the rain set in, in earnest, at least for a while. Nice and cool, though.

Put in 32 miles this morning but the forecast was wrong for a change and got caught in a torrential downpour two miles from home. Thankfully it was warm.

Put in 31 miles this morning with the early risers group from the LBS plus 14 miles commuting to and from the ride for a total of 45 miles. High temperature at the end of the ride was a scorching 61°F. I also passed the 2,500 mile mark for the year on the ride.

Cold front and riding 26 miles in 80's - so much better. When we hit 70's I'll bet I can start shooting for my 17 avg

Great 30 mile ride this morning with BF member DEK. Early arrival at the MUP meant cool temps, little traffic and a faster pace. Not so true for the second half of the ride.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Went for my first bike ride since The Crash a week and a half ago. About a mile, to the credit union and back, on my trusty upright 3-speed so there was minimal pressure on the shoulder. Still, it was plenty for now.

Did 21 miles this morning-wanted to do 30 but the last 9 miles would have been into the wind(15 to 25mph with higher gusts)

53 miles on an early morning club ride (including riding to and from ride start). The fast group was just too too fast today. They were holding 28-29 MPH for long stretches (how do they do that?) and I hung on for a while, but there came a point where I was just done. So I got dropped and rode the second half of the ride with a couple of fellow-droppees. There was another group behind us, but we kind of labored on our own between the groups. My legs are tired.

Bikes: 2011 ICE Sprint Special Edition

24 miles with the wife, stopped at the LBS and had her cassette and chain replaced, made her happy as the bike always seems smoother after a drivetrain refresher!

55 very hilly miles on a club ride today - much of it was in Brown County. Hit 46 on one downhill and 40 on another. Yippee!

The Civil War Century -- 100 miles through some beautiful country, up some hills (7000'), and, as a special treat just for today, a monster thunderstorm that hit when I was nearly 80 miles through the course. I ended up taking cover with several other cyclists inside a covered bridge. Kind of neat.

Howdy fellow riders!

I spent the last week in beautiful Gulf Shores and when I (sadly) left this morning, there were cyclists riding from (or through) Gulf Shores nearly all the way to Perido Bay. Can y'all tell me what the event was about?

It's funny, cause they were riding exactly where I told my wife how awesome a ride it would be the very first day we saw the area.

A quick 20 mile ride this afternoon after work just to loosen the legs up. Got me over the 3000 mile mark for the year, granted a few weeks later than i had planned.

We're spending some time in Winchester Bay, OR in our fifth wheel. We're out each morning pulling crab traps with friends (limits on Friday and Thursday, not so good today). After the crabbing, cooking and cleaning has been done each day, I've gone for rides. I'm not comfortable riding too far on Highway 101 with its high volume of traffic. I know, lots of tourers go all the way from Canada to Mexico, traveling the length of Oregon on this coastal highway. I just don't like being that close to so many trucks, RVs and cars. I've found a great 3-mile road amongst the incredible dunes that has no traffic. A ride to that road, a couple of trips up and down it, coupled with a pretty good climb up past the Umpqua Lighthouse and state campground provided a 20-mile ride. I hit a-fast-for-me 34+ mph this afternoon coming down 101 from the lighthouse into Winchester Bay. It's cool here. About 60 degrees with coastal overcast and wind. I suppose it's preparing me for fall at home.

Did the 100k course of the Tour De Fuzz ride yesterday through Sonoma Valley on my n+1 Specialized Roubaix Comp that I picked up last week. Tremendous ride, and an amazing difference from my old bike (a schwinn fastback). The 100 mile ride, which I didn't do had a KOM/QOM component up the geysers. I noticed that the the overall QOM winner was in the 51-60 year old bracket. The lunch afterwards was awesome bbq, and they had ice cream and even some cheesecakes for dessert. That isnt quite pie, but it sure doe the trick!

40 miles this morning + 2½ mile cool down. Did my ride a bit later than usual as it rained cats and dogs late last night and rained in the wee hours. So, instead of starting at 05:00~05:30, I started around 07:30 instead. Wind was a pain as I dealt with mostly a headwind or nasty cross-wind.
