3 riders, 68*F, 2 flats, 92 miles.
Met TJ a 23 y/o Marine on his first ever road bike ride. He served two tours in Iraq. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ls/TJ92002.jpg |
Tuesday, Rode the usual route, winds were dead this time. A good ride, very enjoyable and actually a surprise given the rain yesterday morning. When I walked out of our Optometrist office the sun was out and by the time I drove home the road was completely dry. I saw another cyclist out on the route, too. Only the second time that has happened. He actually returned my wave and said hello, not from the 41 here for sure, he was smiling as was I.

Did my 23 miles today. It was windy, but for some reason, I felt really slow today. Overall avg wasn't bad, but I seemed really worn at the end.
|
Did my normal 30 mile ride today. I went earlier in the morning to try and avoid our strong afternoon winds, but someone must have told the winds I was coming early because they were there waiting on me.
|
10 miles outdoors rolling hills, 43f winds S 17 mph
|
32 miles. It felt colder than it was. My new Edge 500 must be broken. I thought I climbed more than 1700 feet. My legs are killing me. My bent thinks I'm stupid.
|
Yesterday, rode the usual route, no wind yesterday, either. Cloudy and chilly when it was supposed to be mild and 70F. Oh well it was a good ride anyway.

Another hot and very windy 30 miler. No ride tomorrow as I am doing a charity ride on Saturday and the team captain has not informed us yet if we are doing the 50K or 100K ride. I'll take the day off in case he decides to do the 100K.

23 miles. Better speed and endurance today, but still not back to where I was a month ago. I can't imagine how much further behind I would be now if I didn't do all those step-ups and walking while my hand was recovering.
|
26 miles this morning and 15 slower miles with my GF this evening.
|
23 miles again today, but it seemed tough...more wind, but maybe I need a rest day.
|
Yup. My regular commute, 20 miles round trip.
|
Rode yesterday - 46* - felt colder tho. The few rides I have been able to get in so far this year have been pretty easy going, I was not in shape enough to push, but this ride I pushed - took the hilly route and forced my self to really power up the hills. I didn't have a lot of time, but I rode what I could & it was a good ride.

It was a beautiful day here today while I was stuck inside at work. I did manage to get home in time for a 15 mile ride on the Casseroll. The first couple of miles and the final 5 were paved but the rest was 8 miles of great dirt roads.

Today and Thursday, got to ride both days while it rained all around our place. I drove to Gulf Shores (Redneck Riviera capitol for y'all up north) for a pre-bid briefing and it rained the whole way. Saw a lot of bicyclist out in the rain and decided if they could so could I. Drove home after ditching the rest of the day and it had not/did not rain a drop so into my kit and I got in a good satisfying ride. Yesterday was good, too. Pushed it a bit both days and felt good for doing it. I managed to ride every weekday this week. First time since all the surgeries that has happened. Ankle didn;t even hurt. Yeeeeeessssss.

9 miles this evening. Our not-so-wintry Winter continues and I'm not complaining.
Sat/Sun is to be upper 30's to mid-40's highs and dry. No snow or ice anywhere hereabouts. |
17 miles to a different bike shop as my LBS doesn't stock, Ergon GP-1 Grips I wanted for my and my wife's flat bar bikes, got home just before the WIND went nuts, YEA! ;)

Had my first flat on my bent. Two babes offered to pick me up and drive me to safety, but one snotty roadie cruised by without making a sideways glance. I was not impressed. |
E-filed tax returns then went for a cup of coffee via fixed gear Bianchi. Logged 22.6 miles on a 53 degree, sunny afternoon.:thumb:
|
Perfect weather for a charity ride (Ride 4 the Animals) this morning. The team decided to do the 32 mile ride as some had to go back to work. Temps in the 70's, no winds, an overcast sky and not much traffic made for a great ride. The ride was along the Gulf Beaches and with the winds we have been having this past week, I thought they were going to be a show stopper today. Only two areas where we encountered a slight headwind.
|
I got out for four rides this week totaling 60 miles, 5400' of climbing, 4 hours riding time. It's a start.
|
Nice overcast morning in the 50s with mild wind. 49 miles with a stop for pie at 31. Felt OK, but no desire to push the pace.

Eventually I did.
23 miles, nice weather, good time. |
19 miles on a nice partly sunny low-40's afternoon. Got passed on Mann Road by a couple of young guys wearing Marian University jerseys. I'll just assume that they were members of the 17-time Marian National Champion cycling team.
