I was a bike commuter today: 21 miles. 35 degrees F on the morning ride - hope it was the last 'cold' ride of the year.

Got out for the Tuesday evening bike shop ride. I cut it a bit short to get home for dinner but managed 22.5 miles with a few really good efforts. My legs felt way better today.

Bikes: A slate grey mountain bike & a grey road bike

Did the bike shop's Tues evening group mtb ride at a local city park. We were only out for an hour before it got too dark, but it was lots of fun - nothing too difficult, lots of smooth trails.

Après moi, le deluge.

I did the Bernheim Ramble today, a club ride that starts south of Loovul (how bout them Cards?!) and heads straight south to Bernheim Forest, a beautiful arboretum maintained by the state. Rain was expected, and there wasn't a lot of stoping to smell the roses today.

It was a pity, because if the roses weren't in bloom, everything else was.

The redbuds are about three weeks ahead of schedule.

The visitor center is also lovely.

My bike among many.

About two hours after our return, a thunderstorm hit that deposited dime-sized hail everywhere. I'm glad I wasn't caught out on a bike in it.

Anyway, 50 miles when I should have been doing lots else. In 50 years it won't matter, I guess.

Just this. Really happy for the return of evening rides. And happy, too, for the pause between storms, when the roads are dry, the hills are green, the seasonal creeks & streams & ponds are peaking. Choruses of frogs, clusters of poppies and bluebonnets along the roadsides, big puffy cumulus clouds, and speeding downhill like a little kid.

I find the extra sun enhances my mood, too.

Had a gusty headwind yesterday, sunny day but the rain chance increases closer to the weekend. Everything is in full bloom around here. The dogwoods are beautiful this year. I pushed things a bit to see where I was at recovery wise and stood up to sprint for about 0.10 mile, nothing grandiose, but it felt really good to move out so fast after all the layoff and what not.

Another 30 mile ride at the wilderness MUP. Not much different than Tuesday's ride, nice cool starting temps and little wind today (3-6 mph). Right around noon time, the temps are starting to tell us that summer temps and humidity are just around the corner.

So, I assume that you lost the required weight in order to ride the 91?

Rode for about 15 minutes yesterday. That's an improvement for me. 1974 Raleigh. Fun. My goal is to become fit and healthy one minute at a time and one mile at a time. Forum very encouraging. Not much happening on newbie site. How do I get avatar on my posts.

It helps to have a photobucket site for the avatar. You also have to make sure your avatar is small enough.
