A better man than I am. I only did 11 miles in a similar wind. I did do it on a FG bike though, if that makes a difference (trust me, climbing a hill into the wind, it makes a difference!)

Moon and Venus are prominent tonight.

I've ridden every day this month, since I accepted the 30 days of biking challenge. Today was this. And it was good, as I had wind to challenge me.

What blew me away was that so many people yielded their right-of-way to me, and that they waved to me when I acknowledged them. That was very cool.

Thanks.

I used to commute, but it is really inconvenient to have an hour+ commute in the afternoon, then be all sweaty when I get home. We would like to sell our house in the not-quite-foreseeable future, and maybe move to a neighborhood that would make bike commuting more convenient for me again.

23 miles this morning. Wind not nearly as bad but I had to re-do the route a tad as I ran into a road closed.

31 miles this morning at the usual wilderness MUP. I met an old riding buddy there and he did the last 15 mile lap with me but it was a bit slower than my normal speed. Today's ride put me over the 2,000 mile mark for this year. I hope to get around 7,000 miles in by the end of the year.

Bikes: I've lost my mind!

Took a ride this morning with my wife who is just starting to get back into bikes after a long layoff. She got in 7 miles, excellent for her, and i went down the hill we live on and back after she went home and got in 11.7. Puts me at just over 1000 for the year.

Yeah, I did. My usual 25mile round trip commute. Raced a shower cloud to the station this afternoon. It caught me briefly about half a mile from Attleboro but it didn't have much to say.

I went on one of the prettiest rides I've done in a long time. I drove up to Speed, IN, for a club ride. Southern Indiana is a better place to ride than Loovul, as there is way less traffic and you get to go rural very quickly.

We rode through the area that is still recovering from the killer tornados of a couple of months ago.

Just off the road it looked like it had been flattened by a FAE:

The crews have been out there cleaning the mess up:

I gave them my best military salute as I rode by. It probably looked pretty dorky, but I meant well.

I tried to hang with the fast group and was able to do so for a few miles but could not sustain the pace. I ended up finishing the ride by myself, getting lost due to a certain cue sheet ambiguity (don't you just hate that?) adding three miles to the route, for a total of 46 for the day and 100 since Friday.

Bikes: 2 many

Don't you just love it when everything on the bike is working perfectly? All the components perfectly with each other.
It's raining but so little that the body heat under your windbreaker dries the drops off and they never make it to you. The lights work perfectly in the dark, the fenders keep you and the bike clean. Your ride partner ends up riding the exact same pace as you. He has no rain jacket so we don't stop. The tights I have with waterproof front and breathable back lets the sweat out just exactly the way they are supposed to. All his gear, lights, parts, and fenders with the right mud flap on his bike are working perfectly. Just the way I expected when I put them on his bike.
Thanks to a compressor and a nice garage with a bike stand, it's easy to blow dry the bike with very little work. The new garage door starts when you are a 150 feet away and is open by the time you get there. The new mini remote that is wrapped in a sandwich bag and stays dry, and works perfectly.
The temperature was just right for the gear I wore.
The sandwich at dinner was even perfect.

Life does not get any better.

Just a short ride today during my daughter's gymnastics practice to check out my cleat alignment. I got back to the gym just before a t-storm.

Yes, this. Fun, hard, headwind, tailwind, and still faster than this time last year. I'll take it.

20 miles commuting today. Very nice weather this morning and even nicer this afternoon because I had a tailwind! (No headwind in the AM.)

Welcome to our forum. You just caused our leader to have chest pain, and he's now in the hospital under heavy sedation. He's a tough old bird, though, and I'm confident he'll pull through.

Again, welcome.

My only ride today was a mile and half over to Autozone to pick up lightbulb. We got a ticket in the mail from the Boston police, some officer apparently having noticed a burned-out brake light two days ago. Fortunately the ticket was marked "$0 due, no further action necessary" (except presumably to replace the offending bulb). Grand total about 3 miles by bike.

Yep, 3nd ride this year, and a fitness wake-up-call. 1st ride was 14 or so miles on the nice, flat MUP, and didn't feel too bad. Today was just a jaunt around town - stops, corners, slight block long hills and kicked by butt. I guess I'll have to do this more often during the week before work and long rides on the weekends.

Spent today at the IRS office trying to straighten up a Turbo Tax screwup, so no ride today. I did get 31 miles in yesterday which turned out tone a very good ride, speed wise.

I thought TurboTax is supposed to give you support if this happens.
