It's been a long day after taking my son to JFK airport (80 miles) leaving the house at 4:30 AM for a flight to Israel. Then going out to visit my mother in law now in a nursing facility on Long Island (45 miles) and finally home (100 miles) at 4PM.
Was going to take it easy but told the wife was going for a ride to unwind. Left the house and could not shift onto big ring. Stopped at my LBS who showed me my crank had shifted out a few mm and no way could it get onto big ring. Took it apart for me, cleaned it, re-installed and said no charge! That's why I try to buy at this LBS (buying 6 bikes over the years also helps but I didn't buy this one there).
Anyway after fix called the wife told her my tale and said still going out for a while and got in 22 miles. Just upgraded wheels to Dura Ace C24's now I have a change in the crankset on my mind. Fathers day hints to my kids.

No miles yeserday due to rain and cold,
plus my wife was nearby at the end of the workday.
So I got a ride home.
I've got 200 miles for the month .
And my commuter rig went from a Cannondale H300
to a Specialized Hardrock
to a Trek 930 .
Think I've reached the summit for my bike trading on commuter bikes .

Had a quick ride yesterday before the T'storms hit. I got home and went to unlock the door when I heard the rain drops starting. Good timing for once. Temperature drop was well received by me and today will be just a cool at riding time if the T'storms stay away for a bit longer.

Well carp!

First day of June and it was in the 50s, but after a few weeks of hot weather it felt like it was 20. Cold and nasty.

I felt poorly so I dismissed all one of my staff and came home for a ride to see if that would perk me up. We'll see in the AM.

17 chilly miles. My average speed was so high they scrambled military jets until they figured out it was just me on my recumbent.

So that is why Eglin and Tyndal AFBs scrambled this morning. Good on You!

What a great morning for a ride here is NC! Cool weather, very light wind, no traffic to speak of. Just a slow pleasurable ride around Apex and out to my buddy Mike's farm. Tomorrow is a 29 miler with Carolinas Brewing Company team. https://runkeeper.com/user/sparrish92/activity/92364864

did you ride today

What is there not to like about stopping at a DQ for a mid ride break (other than they're slower than freezing Christmas today)? Potassium, calcium, antioxidants and protein, all in one banana split.

So, a steady Z2-3 cruise in the can. 42 miles. I did not concern myself with average speed, but even so, for reasons I am not at liberty to divulge, and having nothing to do with leaving my kickstand down on the fastest part of the course, the NSA has ask me to keep my average moving speed to myself :embarrassed:

Went out for one of my 30 mile rural routes and 5 miles out I was overtaken by four guys from a local bike shop Sat. morning ride. They invited me to join in and so I jumped in the pace line. Good fun and fellowship! Bumped up my average speed by about 2 mph for the ride also. They invited me to join them on a regular basis and I may just do that.

Friday: Twenty miles round trip commuting to work.

Today: Rode a metric century = one hundred km. 20th Annual B&O Bicycle Tour. One thousand folks showed up in support of continuing work towards completion of the trail.
Relatively cool for June, dry but windy. Thankfully, there were large chunks of tailwind to offset the headwinds.

42 wonderful miles along the Ohio & Erie Towpath. Had a fun mix of smooth crushed limestone and pavement. It was scenic & very relaxing. a steady 15.5 mph pace provided a good workout.

It's starting to heat up in Texas but luckily the days are long. I got started at 6:30AM and did 63 before it got too hot and windy for me. Lots of wildlife, indigenous and otherwise. Coyotes, armadillo, snakes, zillions of rabbits, a peacock, and numerous frisbee golf players.

63 miles on the tandem: 3600' of climbing. This was a club ride with about 30 participants and four mini-rest stops as a celebration of the club's sprint riding academy. The climbing was of the ugly variety tandem-wise: two moderate climbs but a lot of ups and downs of various lengths. There were two flatish stretches which the tandem likes, but one was into a quartering headwind. We'll chuck this one up to character building; stoker naps as I type.
