35 miles this morning...windy, but I had more in me today compared to yesterday.
|
Did 22 miles tonight.
On the edge of town http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...75149813_n.jpg Waitin' for the train http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...94521725_n.jpg http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...76500589_n.jpg I got a light for my wife's bike. I took it for a shakedown cruise tonight. It's a MiNewt Mini.150. http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...11476703_n.jpg Me and my shadow. http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...37665793_n.jpg |
Nice cool start this morning, thank's to a fog that set in last night. Great 30 mile ride at the MUP. Now for some shopping with the wife.
|
18.18 miles to pay the renters insurance bill and back home. Just didn't have the want to ride further today, weird!!
|
A nice easy spin on the bike path plus a lap around Colt State Park on a gorgeous, clear day. Hundreds of kids out at the park having a great time while teachers are, no doubt, thankful it will soon be over until September. When I was that age, our school called it Field Day with various contests, most having to do with running and relays. Me and Merlin Countryman won a blue ribbon in the wheel barrow race. We were good. I've always thought wheel barrow competition should be an Olympic sport but no one ever listens to me.

Another 20 mile Bike To Work Day.
Nice not to have to worry about rain but getting tired of all the watering that we are having to do. |
I was all set to ride the Masi to work today (after the train ride). I drove to within sight of the train station and the car's transmission went BANG! Thump! Thump! Thump! and the car stopped driving. Spent most of the day digging up a replacement vehicle. So I got to ride the Bianchi over to the dearlership to take delivery on another car, two tens of thousands of dollars poorer.
|
10.46 miles @ 45 minutes. Still very windy but I amped it up a bit.
|
After yesterdays hurricane ride it was nice to be able to put in 30 miles with only a 10 mph breeze and a few 17mph gusts.
|
Twenty-one miles that started on the MUP but due to a washout and rebuild it was closed for about 2 miles and the work around was some quad breaking hills.

Cool. I have the Mininewt 350, and I like it, but I haven't taken it out in the dead of night yet.

9 miles yesterday, only bike at work at my building.
|
Here I sit, broken hearted....
Plan was to wake up early and get out of the house for a challenging 44 miler. Im sitting through an unexpected thunderstorm that just seems to drag on and on. I don't mind the rain, but lightning and I don't get along. Almost ten. I'll wait another 20 mins or so, then I will have to defecate or dismount. |

I just got the 250 model yesterday, will hit the road at 6am Saturday to see how it works...goal is another 80 miles on Saturday trying to get done before the heat index hits 110 again! Now if the darned wind would stop howling! It was 30-40 mph on my Thursday ride after work.

Well, I came back soaked, but not from rain.
Thirty minutes after the last thunderclap I headed out. There was some random wandering as the county has been doing a lot of repaving and I found some virgin asphalt to cruise. This took me into a little pocket of the county where I heard banjo playing and squealing, along with a couple of short but steep inclines. As the day wore on and the sun came out, the temp picked up to the mid 80s with a humidity of 90%. It was like riding in a sauna. Strava generated a "suffer score" of 109, which means I suffered quite a bit. Good average time: right at 60 min/hr. 37 miles total, but it felt longer than that. |
First Saturday club ride since my shoulder injury. Did a real nice 20.6 mile ride with some really nice weather. I was hoping to get home and do another ride with the wife, but we ended up,working on the Transit modifications.
|
14 miles @ 60 minutes. I am getting stronger.
|
It's hot in the California Central Valley, above 103 now. I got out at 0800 hours for a 2 1/2 hour ride into a gusting 20-25 mph wind, but I beat the heat. 30 miles was sufficient. 8 to 9 mph into the wind with an easy 18-19 mph with it at my back. Riding east or west, the gusts were blowing me sideways.

Just returned from a nice ride on the out and back route I ride the most (90%) since it is out the door and off to the er....races....., our temps are very mild for June. Only 83 when I left the house, no humidity to feel so it is probably in the 65%-70% range. I surprised myself by hitting 22.6 mph on a flat and holding 20+ up a roller. Did not mean to do that at all. It did feel good.
John, glad you got in your first club ride, today, since the shoulder ride. I have kept you in my prayers the time you were down. How is the Transit coming? We need some pics in the regular posts, please. Dudel, keep the 90% humidity please, I don't look forward to July and August this summer. I will have to ride through the humiture (Feels like 1XX*F) here or as the meteorologist I went to school with say, the misery index, since I registered for a Metric Century this October and I mean to accomplish this completely. You should come down and maybe John come over and we will talk Tom77D into riding it with us. Team Decrepit maybe? Lije, welcome aboard at BF, 50+ forum. What type of PIE do you prefer after your rides? Bill |
50 miles Friday, half on my best road bike, half on the trike with the dog. The first warm ride for the dog. It instantly triggered huge amounts of shedding. Like someone threw a switch.
40 miles Saturday (today) on the road bike. Life could not be any better! Riding to cookout tomorrow. About another 40. |
18 miles early this afternoon - somewhere around 90F. The air conditioning feels sinfully good after a hot summer ride.
Plan to sleep in on Father's Day - will skip the morning club ride because of 50-60% chance of rain (we need rain!) and will get in a ride as the opportunity presents itself. |
8 miles yesterday after wrenching . Rode until it started to look stormy, 94f winds SSW 25g
|
35½ miles this morning. Rather than doing the same loop 3 x, I added an additional area which meant I could do 35 miles and just do the whole ride in a loop 2x...less boring and some new scenery.
