Biked to/from work yesterday, 29ish miles. First ride in 2 1/2 weeks. :notamused: It was good to be out riding.

Mort Canard 06-10-12 07:36 AM

19 early morning miles on the urban bike paths. 21mph south wind.

Bikey Mikey 06-10-12 07:45 AM

35½ miles today at a nice clip.

Well officially 13.11" of rain yesterday for Pensacola, FL. And today has been even harder rain with 100% for today and tomorrow. Our area has had the roads with standing water and our numerous creeks are up to the bridges. Didn't attempt to get to church and I am headed out to check the home generator just in case we loose power. Can't ride well in standing water but if I get a short break I'll do just 5 miles to say I got to ride.

Heard about that in the news last night, Bill. It's what we had all of last week. I think we got 13" of rain for the week, but you guys got that in a day.

I managed a very hot and humid 30 mile ride today with clear blue skies and lots of sun. After last week, I was beginning to wonder if we would ever see the sun again. Tomorrow is suppose to be another day like today.

No rain here today, though it has rained off and on for several days now. Today was lovely. Due to late-night commitments resulting in lack of sleep we managed only 29 miles on the tandem today. Still, they were 29 nice miles.

The wife and I worked the "Starlight Spectacular", bicycle night ride, rest stop #2, rode the bikes to the stop, 8 miles for Sat., then rode the bikes home at "2 AM.", 8 miles for Sunday! The town is very strange at night but the traffic is no problem, LOL!

JohnDThompson 06-10-12 04:23 PM

70 miles on my fixed gear. I still feel pretty good after the ride, so I think next weekend's century will be on the fixed gear as well.

Rwc5830 06-10-12 07:44 PM

Finished the weekend with 80 miles (Saturday) + 55 miles (sunday) wind was back with a vengeance today! The usual hot and humid. We only had three ride today so the drafting or lack of was tough.

Monday is coming too soon ;(

I had an unusual ride this weekend. I got to ride with my brother. We flew down to Dallas, Texas to celebrate his 60th birthday! We snuck away from the rest of the family for a short ride around White Rock Lake. I had my eye out for 50+ jerseys, but didn't spot any! It was my first time using toe-clips! I am one step closer to clipless!

13 miles while going to look at a bike yesterday .

Bikey Mikey 06-11-12 05:48 AM

35½ miles.

gevad 06-11-12 06:35 AM

Yesterday, I road 40 miles on the local MUP (W&OD Trail) with my older daughter, who's in town for a visit. She rode one of my bikes and it was her first time with toe clips. She did great.

Today I did my regular 10 mile ride to work. It will be a hot and hard uphill ride home this evening.

Did 36 miles of hilly riding on the Goldstream road here in Fairbanks. It is a nice loop that comes back to the house, the only challenge is riding up (700') to get home. Temps were in the mid 70's so the two rain storms I encountered were not too bad and dried out quickly.

pgerhardt 06-11-12 01:05 PM

Yesterday did 32 miles with a friend. From Centreville out to Ridgely and back through Tuckahoe Park. Was 94F at 1:30 pm when I got back home.

John_V 06-11-12 01:11 PM

Got an early start this morning before the temperature started rising. Did my usual 31 mile daily ride and realized that I really need to make up for lost time in order to get back to my pre-injury conditioning and times. The last five miles in yesterday's and today's ride were not pretty.

RaymondK43 06-11-12 03:18 PM

10.33 yesterday, 11.37 today.

Dudelsack 06-11-12 07:16 PM

Rode about ten miles this evening. I experienced craniopedal dysharmony, ie. my heart was fine but my legs felt dead. Might have something to do with standing all day on the job.

jimmuller 06-11-12 07:31 PM

Just the usual commute thing. 25mi round trip. Nice day for a ride. Best thing about work.

JanMM 06-11-12 08:11 PM

mmmmmm.............16 miles yesterday afternoon and .......uh.............a few blocks today after work. Fiddled around with the seat mounting on one of the 'bents, then replaced a bent brake lever on the other 'bent (some idiot let it fall over on its left side locking it up at work - the lever absorbed all the damage). Rode each bike a couple of blocks to make sure I hadn't made things worse in either case.
Tomorrow is another Bike to Work Day.

Mort Canard 06-11-12 08:58 PM

16 miles of stress reduction after a ragged Monday at work! :notamused:

Took the urban bike and bombed around the local bike paths.

Did a fair job of clearing the head! :)

Prolly need to do it again tomorrow!

A bike ride makes any Monday OK.

Gravity Aided 06-12-12 04:14 AM

10 miles home on my Giant Cypress, now rigged up for commuting . 75 mo..

qcpmsame 06-12-12 05:17 AM

Finally got in a ride between thunderstorms yesterday, late afternoon. No flooding up our way but southwest part of the county took it pretty bad. Sheriff's office/county jail got 22.87". Ride was nice but a head/cross wind most of the time. At least it was a ride.
