57 degrees with moderate west winds today so I put in 24 miles on one of my favorite rural routes. Coasting back to the truck with a tail wind and the sun on my back was pretty nice! :D

50 miles, cool temperatures (50). Got in a good workout with 2 riders I met at the start of my ride.

January was pretty cold/icy here in the Northwest. I only got out for four rides and 70 miles. Friday and yesterday the weather was much better. I've already put in over half of January's total mileage.

Rode the local bike bath and then up around Lake Stevens, then to Everett on Friday afternoon for 26 miles

I went out Saturday with the local bike shop for 20 hard miles, I'm going to try and get out again today.

Rode 24 yesterday in very cold, blustery conditions here in PA. Today I'm going to try my new Kurt Kinetic, maybe for 1/2 hour or so before the Super Bowl.

Another cool morning (for Florida that is) so we waited until noon for the start of our ride. I prefer riding in shorts instead of of pants. Yes my friends from the great frozen north (anyplace above the Fl panhandle) would consider me a WIMP. But this little guy agrees with me. He was out for a little pm stroll in the sun. I do so enjoy watching gopher tortoises. Oh and we rode the usual 24 miles.http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/gal...?imageid=15304

25 mile club ride to the beaches in Tampa Bay. Weather was a little chilly when we left the park at 8:00 am but quickly turned warm to the point that everyone was way overdressed. No beach-goers in the water this week like there was last Saturday, but a lot of people in the water fishing. Water's just a little to darn cold for me to get in. I'll have to wait a month or two if I want to go to the beach. Sorry, no photos as I didn't have time to stop and take any. Maybe next time we do the ride, I'll be able to get some beach photos.

RogerM, beautiful pictures of the ride area, that is a nice looking bike you have. What make and model is it? Seems to be a large frame size, you must be fairly tall.

Thanks. It's a Stan Johnson. He is not little known builder from Bozeman, MT(Started building in Oxnard, CA). He built 150 frames from 1980 to 2000. I have a pair of his road bikes that he built for his brothers in 1988 & 1989.

I did some riding on the trail, but then discovered I had lost my glove which had been in my pocket, so I had to go riding back again to look for it

Rode for 70 minutes on the mtb, first time on a snow covered trail. It takes a little more effort in snow.Hit two sections with snow covered ice, heard the ice cracking underneath but came out ok.I'll be back!

I rode the Greenway twice, about 35 miles, a little harder than I have recently. The weather was so nice at 50°+ that it seemed like everyone and their dog was out. Tiny dogs with loong leashes everywhere, every one of them. Actually that's a bit weird in retrospect. Usually it's all larger dogs, all well trained.

PS, are we still abiding by the strava-or-it-didn't-happen policy? or is it http://app.strava.com/activities/39666228 superfluous?

I've been sidelined for nearly 3 wks. with a badly-sprained left ankle and subsequent hairline fracture at the bottom of my left fibula; it took nearly a week for the swelling to subside enough to get my Sidi on.

Today, we took the tandem out in balmy weather and had a fun, easy ride. Just what the doctor ordered.

az_cyclist 02-04-13 08:08 AM

I had 64 @ 15.6 on Saturday, en 31 @ 17.5 yesterday. Saturday was a club ride, and sunny and nice. It was cloudy with some sprinkles yesterday, but I was able to ride without jacket, arm warmers, and knee warmers.

ESchmitt 02-04-13 08:16 AM

Took the day off and rode 82 miles. About 50 deg. Was nice to get out side and ride. Spring is on it's way:)

dalameda 02-04-13 09:34 AM

Did 30 miles on Saturday in the Oakland hills then ran a 5k charity run on Sunday. That is the extent of my cross training for the year.

did you ride today

Today is a rest and catch up on the chores day.

DowneasTTer 02-04-13 04:03 PM

We got out for a 25 mile ride south from Floral City, Fl. Then a quick stop at Ferris Groves for 1/2 flat of fresh strawberries.... $6.00. Awesome time.

Bikey Mikey 02-04-13 05:21 PM

42 miles today

Old Sarge 02-04-13 06:22 PM

Did 10.3 miles today. Another beautiful day for riding. I missed a shift (again) and the chain came off the gears (in the back this time). Took me a few minutes to fix it since it sort of wedged in. But it is all a learning experience for me. Last time I did anything mechanical with a bike it involved clothes pins and playing cards. :)

Old Sarge 02-04-13 07:29 PM

Thanks I'm taking it in soon for a check up But I think it was me.....again

A great 35 mile bike ride today. Added an extra 5 miles to the overall ride by going into a city park that connects with the MUP (the MUP is a county park). I have to ride it much, much slower (around 10-13 mph) because of all the blind, sharp curves but it makes for a nice ride. I'll have to see how it affects my overall ride time. Today it took me 2:20 but I wasn't in any hurry, even on the loop where I normally hammer it. If I can get the overall time down, I may add this as a daily addition to my ride.
