28 miles yet once again! Took a different route than yesterday and ended up with a half mile shorter but a tenth mile per hour faster.
So all in all the same as the day before, a great ride. All though a little short but I am worried about the sun running aout and I have no lights so...

Nope. The rain that wasn't supposed to show up until this afternoon was already pouring down when I got up at 4:25 am, so I wussed out and went back to bed for an hour, got back up, and drove my truck to work.
I really wanted to try out my new Conti Ultra Gatorskin commuting tires today, but not that badly.

Tuesday 10/20/09... Been off the bike since Tuesday 10/13 due to an unplanned trip to the hospital. Got released at 7 PM yesterday so I did a slow 20.5 mile flat, ride with my daughter today. Weather was just outstanding. After being in isolation for 5 days getting outside felt great. Hope to get back to my 30 mile per ride tomorrow. Mileage and ride days will be a little low this month... Oh well it is what it is.......

We left this morning in a light rain, which became heavier. We shortened the planned 50 to 30. I had a brand new REI waterproof rain jacket to try out. It worked great. Here we are holed up at a fire station while Bob fixes a flat (on the right) and it rains real hard. Yes, I cleaned my bike when I got home, so GET OFF MY BACK!!!

/I did pick up a nice Univaga SKINNY tire bike at the dump;dont know if I can bring myself to ride it

Got out for a short hill climb on the BRP but there was just too much traffic to be enjoyable. The leaves are brown people! Go home!
Anyway, I plan to get out on another ride this afternoon while my daughter has her gymnastics practice. Beautiful sunny day in the low 70s today.

Today I got all ready to ride and went to check tires for correct pressure and rear was cool then went to the front and it was flat! Put in a repaired tube and off I went. About 6 miles down the road I noticed, or perceived the bike was not rolling like it should and that the bumps were not bumps but a little mushy. Yep front tire was going down! I put in a new tube and finished my 28 mike ride. I saw a guy who was standing along the railtrail I use part way and he had broken a spoke and was waiting for his wife to pick him up. I stayed and talked with him till his sag came.
Weather was so nice and tomorrow is going to just as good if not better, I taking off!

0 miles today; rode to work and back yesterday and the day before. (18mi round trip).
Supposed to rain tomorrow. Saving my legs, anyway, for the Hilly Hundred this weekend. Small chance of rain Saturday but not Sunday.

Now that the weather is spending some time in the 40's and occasionally the 30's, and my work schedule has become insane, I'm doing a very pretty little 18 mile loop a few times a week. Tomorrow's supposed to be in the 70's so I'll do about 35 with some hills.

10/22 - Did a nice 4 man ride today, 38.2 mi, around the Coral Springs - Parkland burbs. Weather was great, upper 70's, 80% humidity. 6 mph ENE wind. Scattered showers in the area, but all south of us. Clear and dry all ride. Glad the nice weather is finally here.

I took off today and did 62 miles riding to my old highschool and the house I was born in.
Here is a picture of me crossing Interstate 95 on a bikepath that crosses it at the Maryland side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. You can see the bikepath on the right side of the picture that takes you to Virginia.

Here I am in front of my old High School

It was a very nice day and brought back a lot of memories too.

I rode the MTB pretty hard for about 2 hours on rolling doubletrack (mostly). I'm tired now.

It was still pouring rain when I got up this morning, so I drove my truck to work, but did 25 miles after I got home. There's lots of standing water everywhere and flood warnings for a local river. Rain, rain, rain...

Just got back from a 8 mile loop,??, on one of the local Single Tracks here, Rosayville State Park in Maryland. https://www.singletracks.com/bike-tra...tate-park.html
Site says 8 miles but I believe it is a few more than that to be honest.
About a mile or two into it I went down a compression and did something to my back. It hurts a lot now. It was not that big a compression or anything but when I came out ot it I was feeling it. I finished the ride with not too many problems though. Now is another story, really sore.
Would have taken more pictures but batteries went dead after one shot, I am a goof for not checking and or taking spare ones.

Friday 10/23/09... I did a slow 30.54 mile flat, solo ride today. The legs are still not up to speed(I thought it would come back a little faster than this). Weather was just outstanding today but very windy. Lots of gopher turtles out sunning themselves along the trail. Mileage and ride days will be a little low this month... After sitting on the sidelines for over 5 weeks with sinus and ear infections I rode from the Auto detailing place to my office. It was half my normal 8 mile one way commute. It still kicked my sorry butt. Even so, it was nice to ride again.
