Got in a last ride in the warm weather, 72°F this afternoon and another 25.5 miles logged. The strong NW winds told me this was going to end shortly, forecast confirmed the notion, too. It was nice while it lasted.

Triked a short 5.1 miles this morning, 6.3 in the afternoon. Not cloudy for a change but the sun just wasn't warm, 34°/52° and cool, not a lot of fun. I'm ready for spring/summer.
(I shouldn't complain - the weather is much better than the tons o' snow the east coast is suffering.)

Only minus 5c today so warm enough for snow. I did 7km into the wind and into the coffee shop. The 7km back was as quick as I've done all Winter. Got dusted by a couple of pick-ups but other wise it was fun. Now 2 inches of white stuff on the bird table and still falling.

Skipped Tuesday due to stiff north winds, but got a great 25.5 miles this afternoon. Tomorrow I need to ride early as the winds are to switch back to the north and the temperature is to drop.

Nice 12.6mi ride on two wheels (the fun Allez , the bike I already know how to crash on) @15mph in 54° mostly sunny weather. I still have quite a few pounds to shed and try to ride everyday. This recovery is a tedious and lengthy process.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Same route, 25.5 miles late morning to get ahead of the winds that are building and the temps that are dropping. Supposed to go in the mid 20's tonight, here.

Wow, Bill, I didn't know it got that cold in our sister state Florida (I'm in the other Duh state - Nevaduh). Just below the Sierras it's only dropping to the low 30s. Highs in the 60s w/sunshine so it makes for decent riding weather, as long as the winds don't pick up.

Nice afternoon ride on the trike, 10.1 miles @10-12mph. Just crusin' and enjoying the ride, pushing the DVT (clots) outta' the legs.

It can get in the mid 20's this time of year, had an ice storm last January, first I can remember, and I am a life long resident of Pensacola. Heard on SirriusXM channel 6, this morning, that we were a degree colder than most Montana towns at that time. It only hit 48 today, went out for 16 miles, fighting the gusty north winds.

Made it out at 0300 for 30 miles with starting temp down to 41F. Hit a couple of areas where the temperature was lower. Fairly cold for SW Fl. Saw a good sized healthy looking bobcat, a suicide rabbit and a huge raccoon. Decided to pull off the road a number of times as cars approached since I felt a little uneasy with the traffic today.

It was 19 degrees when I started out this morning. A new low temperature for me. 95 miles with lots of wind the last 50 miles. Gorgeous day otherwise as it warmed up to 50. I really need to drink and eat more. Started feeling puny the last hour of the ride. 4800' of climbing with a peak of 16% on one hill. Just training ride to have in the bank.

BEAUTIFUL February day, even down here in the deep south where winters rarely get into the teens - 75F at the top this afternoon. 27 miles by myself on country roads: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/4101346 There was a little wind, but rarely more than a light breeze.

It's been a "virtually never ride" winter so far, with only 80 miles and change under my belt since November 1. I need to get out more, hopefully weather and schedule will accomodate that.

Saturday, 25 miles, strong west winds.
Sunday, 25 miles, very nice afternoon. Little winds for a change.
Temps have been mild the last few days, rain is forecast for Monday and Tuesday, then its to be record cold. We shall see.

I'm glad to see some people are riding bikes. We've been busy dodging snowflakes and trying to stay in shape. I haven't commuted by bike since mid-December, tried once in January but gave up because of the slippery road.

On the other hand, we managed to ride skis. From today:

Yes, it was -5F with a 25 to 35mph wind when we came off the trail. Brutally cold here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Missed a couple of days with weather stuff and meetings at work, got out in our windy weather/blue bowl skies and rode just to feel better about things. 25.6 miles in the books, thankfully.

One week with no riding. Got on the trainer for about 5 minutes, and then got a phone call.

Never even got back on the trainer...

Finally got the OK to ride from the doc yesterday. 23 miles on my wife's recumbent trike and rollers. Had to take my blood pressure every 15 minutes to make sure it didn't get too high. Didn't want to push it on my first day back but it sure felt good after a month off the bike.

John, glad that you finally had a ride, just be careful, please.

Only 20.5 miles this afternoon, it was colder than usual outside, for here, 43°F when I was riding. Had to ride as this is the 70th anniversary of the start of the Iwo Jima landings, and the prelude to the famous Mount Suribachi flag raising. A little cold and some winds are nothing compared to the hell these Marines went through there. It means a lot to this Marine, and I am sure to many others. Semper Fi, thanks to everyone for their service. There is a good reason they are called Our Greatest Generation.

25.5 miles this afternoon, warmer than forecast, and its to be in the lower 70s this Sunday. What a switch from earlier, it was 22°F yesterday in the early morning.

Dick, thanks, no claims here, I was in during a rare completely peaceful period, 75-77, they were getting away from Vietnam and the hangover from those grim days. I was airwing, too, so I generally stay away from tooting any horns, the grunts take the brunt of things when the fecal matter hits the rotating breeze generator. Semper Fi to everyone that ever served, that includes the civilians that were waging the home front wars here, too.

Bill
