Started out on the Paramount at 0310 today and back by 0630 for the first 50 miles of the day. Showered, ate a Pop Tart, aired up the CAAD 8 then out for another 52. Temp at 0310 was 56F and at 0730 when I headed out again it was down to 48F. Sun came up and so did the winds but it was wonderful.

Hmmm.....seem to be riding every Saturday last few weeks but not in between....could it be Winter and I shouldn't complain?
Ten miles this afternoon - upper 30's and dry. Supposed to snow tonite/tomorrow. I'll take what I get.
First ride with new basic Garmin computer. Will be shared between three bikes. So far so good.

80 miles with 7200' of climbing. Steepest stretch was 16%. 22 degrees at the start and 52 degrees at the finish. This was my last hill about a mile from the finish. Nice little 11% kicker.

Took yesterday as this week's day off/rest day. Should have ridden anyway, but hind sight is always 20/20.
Got in my regular 25.5 miles this afternoon, very nice conditions.

From the house to GMR and then up GRR. Turned around 3 miles from the village. I didn't really feel like climbing back up out of the canyon on the way home.

Managed to work in 20 miles this afternoon, after the rains passed over our area. Actually, it was a pleasant day as far as the temperature went, 65°F, and it was beginning to dry up somewhat on the road surfaces. Looking at cooler temperatures beginning tomorrow, and rain most of the week.

Man, that's a heck of a long way to push a trainer, you must have an enormous mancave, or basement. Personally I'd much rather be riding than pushing a trainer around. (ducks to avoid the wrench being thrown at him)

23 very windy miles this morning and it sure felt good. Been off the bike for nine days with a slight touch of bronchitis. Would have done 35 miles but got rained out. Still a great ride.

Back out this afternoon, did the regular 25.5 mile route. Winds were down to a slight NNE breeze today, thankfully.

Did 13.6 after work. Only had about an hour. Started at 33f and ended at 28f. It was a great evening ride. Finding it is going to take a bit longer than I might have thought. But I got time.

A nice 35 mile ride today. Still have some sinus and chest congestion but it was just too beautiful of a day to not go out and ride.

It's been a dry January here on the Pacific coast so I have put in 700 miles. Since I built up my Redline Cross bike I've been riding it off-road. You don't get many miles but the effort is a great deal higher. So since the Cross bike is not good on a hard descent I decided to go to a 29 full suspension and found a Trek HiFi. Don't let anyone tell you that there's been any significant improval in FS over the last 5 years. The only change is weight at the expense of HUGE expense.
Disk brakes drag a little always. But they stop so well you have to ignore that disadvantage. SR push-push shifters aren't as good as Shimano push-pull shifters but that's the break of the big time. And lifting the extra weight (5 lbs over the Cross bike) gives you more exercise on the short trail systems most people have access to. FS goes downhill better each time you ride one. The only thing you have to watch for is hikers and other cyclists.
The road bikes just make you smile. Colnago is one of those bikes that could make a stone statue smile. So is my Look tour replica. The problem that continues to bug me is that the shifting is always needing adjustment. It will hardly go for four or five rides and need attention. Maybe that goes with a triple. I'm planning on changing over to a compact eventually since the compact on the Cross bike has given no problems.
I rode the last five days in a row. It sure is nice being retired. We even have a guy in the group that's 83 though he's slowing down on his hill work these days.
So what have YOU to say for yourself?
