Great job, the progress in your riding is solid stuff. Keep up the rides, a few stops to gather yourself up is no problem at all. Using the low gear is why we have those extra cogs and rings on board. There are some good cramping threads in the archives here, look some of these up for some ideas on how to stop them, or at least lessen them. Not going to get onto those here, right now.

Yesterday was a very pleasant ride, other than a ENE wind for most of the ride, it was super weather. 25.35 miles that felt great. Still on track to make my goal of 7,000 miles for the year, again. Got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Started out as a solo ride this morning but I met two of my riding buddies at the other parking lot and ended up riding with them. Had a really good 38 mile ride with some nice cool starting temps.

Old age had its way with me Wed night. Left wrist tendonitis so bad I couldn't sleep. Fortunately I had a few Prednisone (steriod) pills left. No ride Thursday, and I wanted to try out the new tires on the Roubaix.
Rode the trike today for 18.5 miles to give the wrist a rest. UC Davis & CalTrans are sponsoring a paid pavement test with bicycles tomorrow in Reno and I don't want to miss that.

25 miles (more or less) this morning with a friend. Not fast, 15 average, just a "visit and smell the roses" ride. Great temps: started in the upper 60s and finished in the mid/upper 70s.

Nice and foggy this morning for my 52 mile ride with two of my riding buddies. Fog didn't stay very long so it warmed up pretty quick but a nice breeze made the day enjoyable.

14.5 miles for the UC Davis/CalTrans Pavement Test Bike Ride on the Allez (with wrapped wrists). Somewhere around 30 bike & trike riders. Gravitational forces were involved, but it was a nice ride. Good timing starting at 9:30AM. Big winds came up in the afternoon. A total for the day of 20.4 miles. Great way to spend a Saturday Morning (and get paid for doing it).

52.9 miles @ 16.3 with 1765 ft. Pleasant temps but windy. Type of day where I could never get it behind me. Mostly a cross/head wind. PIA. On the plus side the first 50+ miler on the new saddle went well. Looks like the Glider is a keeper. While I had the bike in the workstand to install the saddle I also replaced the chain. Giving the ride some love.

Not today. Had a little tickle in the throat yesterday, but ignored it. Went out for 35 miles with a starting temperature of 48 f. Thought I dressed warmly enough......also thought it would warm up more as I went along. It didn't (much), and although it was a good ride, by the time I got home I was definitely chilled. Within a couple of hours a cold set in for sure. Sinuses are not happy. Don't mind missing a ride today, but tomorrow its supposed to be up around 70 f, possibly for the last time this year. Probably would be best to give it a couple of days rest though.

21 rolling (1543 ft - not hilly according to the 50+) miles along the lake.

I was reminded again just how lovely a ride the DeRosa is. I don't want to ride it all the time - it would spoil the feeling of how special it is when I do ride it. Next ride it's back to the other bikes I love ... Cannondale Caad's.

Only about 5 miles around the neighborhood this evening, mostly to test out a new light and tire pressure. Just got a Nashbar Earl Grey floor pump and was anxious to play around with various pressures in the 700x38 Specialized Hemisphere tires. 80 psi feels about right for the mixture of smooth and rough pavement and occasional forays into the rutted rocky dirt that passes for "sidewalks" in my area.

It's still taking me about 15-30 minutes just to warm up where the thighs aren't burning on every hill, after which that second wind kicks in and everything gets easier. Except for the respiration - still struggling with getting that breath control, partly due to asthma, allergies and the higher ozone level recently, but it's improving a bit each week.

Been commuting all week. Today my sweetie and I took the tandem out for 51.6 miles. Discovered a hidden gem of woodlands, the Annursnac Conservation Area in Concord. Even did a little single-tracking!

Saturday's quarter century sponsored by the Crescent City Cyclists out of New Orleans. Easy ride north of Lake Pontchartrain with my good friend and long time riding buddy. We were more celebrating the 25 year anniversary of our 100 mile ride together for the same event done in 1990. He rode in the original jersey for that event. This year? Not even a t-shirt option. Bah! Great ride both times.

Oh, man, I can relate. I hate it when some body part decides to play the old age card and I can't ride. Fortunately when it's something like wrist or arm tendonitis I can ride the trike the second day. Not leaning into the handlebars like on a bike.

19.8 miles on the Roubaix with new tires. These CST CZAR seem to have less rolling resistance - faster. I like 'em (and the price was right, wholesale on
ebay $10.78 apiece). Not being cheap, just broke.

103 miles, 11,200' climbing, 7hrs 10 minutes moving, no hill training in SW FL so this 65yo did not do too bad after registering for Six Gap 100 just 10 days ago. If I decide to do it again, guess a little training would help.

Awesome! That's some epic riding there.

For my part I did 43.8 miles @ 16.9 with 1345 ft. Gave me 201 miles for the week.

48 miles on a club ride today out of Greencastle.
Rode on some fresh, smooth asphalt on one stretch - that's a rare event!
