Did 53 miles this weekend, all local. Going to try a '40' at one go next weekend, wish me success.

42.3 miles @ 16.2 with 1188 ft. Nice fall weather - a tad windy but nice. Another 200 mile week.

My sweetie and I rode 61.75 miles on ye old vintage tandem today (same tandem as always). A lovely cool autumn day here in New England.

Long time away from the forum and riding for me... 6+ years but I just bought a new bike and today was my first miles out on the road (6) .. yes 6 miles, but it may as well been 100. Could hardly walk for 3 years, but finally was properly diagnosed and had 3 stents installed this spring. It's amazing how well I can walk again ... riding is going to come back slowly, but I'm stoked to be on the road again. Planning a century for next summer.

Good to see you back here, Barry:thumb:, that is some serious medical stuff you had to go through. Its high time you got back into the road scene:innocent:, a report on the new bicycle, as well as some pics, are in order.:50:

Catching up this weekend's rides: Friday was a write off, stomach maladies made it hard to venture too far from the loo. Saturday an Sunday were both 26+ miles. Absolutely beautiful fall weather both days, mild, comfortable temperatures in the mid 70s and no humidity to speak of (around 50%, which is low for the central Gulf Coast,) with slight N-NNE winds.

Ma Nature finally had her way with me re: the left wrist. A visit to the VA ER netted some Prednisone (anti-inflamatory steroid) and three days of no riding (damn this old age). Took the trike out for 23.4 miles today. Either it's getting lighter or I'm getting stronger. Small hills don't even phase me. Love this machine.

Got in 26.6 miles @ 17.2 with 705 ft. Pretty near perfect weather today - 66 deg and light wind. I really love it when I set out on my ride and see the flags just hanging limp and not standing at attention.;)

26.75 miles, nice day out.

37 miles with my buddy Oz on a nice cool morning ride. This being Florida, it did stay cool for long. :(

Greybeard712 10-13-15 12:01 PM

Had my first flat on the trike today. 7 miles from home and of course, no flat kit, no spares. I have a small flat kit w/co2 that I xfer from bike to bike, but didn't put it in the trike bags. No one to blame but myself. Fortunately a friend that lives close by (Delta recumbent rider) gave me a ride home on a Honda trike to get my SUV. These Goathead stickers are E-V-I-L !
Fixed flat, went for 2nd ride, and had ANOTHER flat (left), but this time I had a pump with me. Stopped to pump it up twice and made it home. 18.6 miles total.

:welcome BACK!!!!

Today was a slow rolling day until the sky blackened. Last 15 miles were windy and wet. When I got back home I had to jump into the pool to get dry. :D 68 miles total.

Tuesday is interval day. Hammered out (at least what passes for hammering by my standards:rolleyes:)22.2 miles total.

No chance to get on a ride yesterday, late home from work due to a bid opening. Nope we didn't get this one, either. This week will be my shortest mileage of the year, we are off to Atlanta on Friday morning to see our daughter. No complaints about this one, ans its the first really short week of the entire year, 4 days off is a first for me since returning from the various maladies and starting back, in 2011.

After those two flats yesterday on the trike I looked at it askance this morning and decided to try some moderate pressure on the wrist. Rode the (flat bar) Sirrus for 15.7 miles. Speeds vary from 12-15mph. The tires stayed round.

Worked in a nice ride yesterday, 26.89 miles. I had to deal with the dust from the peanut, and cotton harvesting, in the fields around the half way point. The crews had it going on both sides of the road, made for some grimy kit and a clean up when I got home.

Got pics? ;)

Why would you want to see a dirty, grimy rider and bike? Strange fetish there, Ron, even for a moderator.

No ride yesterday. Had the roofers here all day putting on a new roof. :( Today was a picture perfect day for a ride. Got in 31 miles - 24 with my buddy Oz and 7 with the wife. My hay fever went haywire since I ran out of my Zyrtec so it wasn't a very pretty ride. I'll be picking some up some more this afternoon.

Hey at least nobody will tail gate you. Not for long.

Greybeard712 10-15-15 02:19 PM

22.9 miles today on the trike :recum:. Damn the goatheads and full speed ahead. As it turns out one of my bike buddies had flats on Tuesday too, so I'm not the only one.

Yesterday I got in 32.8 miles with a lot of construction impediments. Seems like they're pushing to get these projects done before the weather really turns.
23.1 today with a couple of threshold intervals. Bright clear pleasant day. A noticeable crosswind on the seawall but pleasant nonetheless.

Stopped to get a shot of Lower Manhattan and the Freedom Tower and Lady Liberty

Those are exactly the days that I NEED to go for a ride.

Rode my favorite (or one of) 50.5 mile loop today.

OldTryGuy 10-15-15 05:00 PM

Another not much sleep night, so out at 0430 for a slow and easy 22 miles. Got home, showered, dressed, ate breakfast and went to Walmart food shopping. Got back home, kitted back up and got out at 0800 for another 91 miles. Didn't expect to do 113 today, but just couldn't stop pedaling. :D
