right I understand that, but I am actually not able to see all the posts. Anything posted after pg. 300 (with forum defaults for posts per page) I have never seen before. That means I am missing out on 7 pages of information. The last post you were able to see that was posted this evening is something I have never seen before.

this is happening to me in multiple threads in multiple forums. It is really strange

edit: hmm perhaps you are right. I just replied to the thread in question and it went to the same page that it has been going to so maybe I was wrong and I am just seeing phony pages.... still odd but less troublesome

AHA! That's what I was starting to gather. Just hit LAST down there and work with it...see what it does. These things only list a small range of pages in the navigation section...even Yahoo does this. Of course with Y! you can't usually search for your post by member etc, you go through 4 trillion pages when the kiddies yelling about Britney are fervent.

I know, Britney is so last year as if. My mileage may vary too because I don't keep track of that.

Maybe you should find the BF default for posts per page...and I'm lost at that point.

Thanks. Tom. My bad -- I didn't notice the difference.

First time iv'e noticed this!

Been trying to post in the post your trailer thread. I click the post reply button and the page begins to load up, then for about 2 or 3 second is see the reply box but while page is loading it dissapears? Once loaded im left with two big empty white boxes -

Reply to Thread

Additional Options

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iv'e tried to get around this by stopping the page fully loading but its tricky as you may stop the page load and not have the submit button. I managed to stop the page load once and typed out my post but foolishly hit the Preview Post button! Guess what? Yip lost the lot.

Anyone have this problem or know whats wrong?

Thanks

What type of picture/graphics file(s) are you trying to show and are you trying to post them as attachments or inline? You may not be closing a line and a broken one may not post correctly.

If you tried to change text color, for an example and did not highlight the portion correctly or placed it incorrectly then the results might be NO COLOR or other parts colored that you did not want. Check to see if the /--- tag is placed correctly when you edit. Symmetry is a big plus when you tag so make sure the command terminates where it ought to.

I find it easiest to terminate in the exact opposite order that you activated.

color=red font=Arial Black size=5 FRED SAID HELLO /size /font /color as an example, without brackets so I don't confuse the server. This assures that your post is laid out as you wish and sometimes you'll goof and find your closing tag where it doesn't belong so this might help you learn where to replace it.

Lastly, if you don't have a correct URL for an image, it may not show at all or if you are lucky the server you call will place a file not found image there (like Photobucket or flickr tend to do).

The forum keeps going wonky on me, I'll post a screenshot when I'm not feeling lazy. I use Google Chrome if perhaps that's the source of the prob. hitting refresh 1 billion times to try to fix it gets real old.

Same here. Is BF having trouble crossing the border?

None of the links show in posts, including the ones in sigs. I can't post a link either; it's there, but you can't see it. Plus I have to keep refreshing to see anything other than gobbledygook. Totally haywire!

On edit. Now that worked **********

BF?

i took a screenshot but I don't want to u/l it to any of the very public sites ie: flickr to put the link here, does a mod want it via email? It's like the forum goes wonky after it finishes refreshing, it kinda breaks and stuff disappears. I even tried to view the forum in *shudder* IE and no dice! Is it my O/S to blame? Vista...don't shoot me.

Luddite, you can email it to me at tom@bikeforums.net. Whatever the issue, it's possible it's a browser setting, but I'll need to see what's happening to say for sure. I use several OS's though from XP to Vista to Linux to OpenBSD, and multiple browsers to track issues with rendering and load time.

BF is abbreviation for Bike Forums, by the way.

All three of the PC's I have used to access BF today have exhibited periodic problems, often the thread lists come up missing all most information, except the usually have the posters name. Also at the bottom of a thread, when it says "page 10 of 10" then the page numbers are usually just to the right of that, they have periodically disappeared.

Same issues. It looks like BF went through a blender on it's way to British Columbia! Surely if this was an issue across the board, there'd be a flood of queries

...in this forum as well. For instance, I have no way to edit that last post. The controls for that function have disappeared, along with the link on my sig and page #s, though they are there on mouse-over.

There has been an error ongoing in Google Ad's ad server causing a CSS scripting error that prevents full page load in some areas of Western Canada. This would affect all browsers, by the wy, regardless of flavor. We're hoping Google fixes it quickly, but I have an idea how many data tables and lines of code they are going to have to scan.

Just so you've got another data point, I'm having the same "invisible link" problem here in Victoria as well!

Thanks!

You're using Courier New?

Having said that, most of the sigs here have been cut short for some time. I'm not certain as to why but it's more prevalent lately. Perhaps a sticky would be in order?

Hey, I'm trying to read this thread, but I cannot advance past page 308, no matter what, even if I post: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...05822&page=308

Can anyone help?
