why does the green arrow point backwards on the front wheel of the icon?
Is it telling me to get a fixed gear and ride backwards?

For all the whingers who posted ... try using the compatibility view in IE8 :thumb:

Running IE8 on Windows 7. Hope that this helps others.

Sadly this option is already checked. Using Firefox. Forum almost unusable given lack of wrappiness.

Just so you don't feel singled-out the plus sign is on the rear wheel, telling the fixies and SS-ers to "add gears" here.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I've developed an alternate icon pack:

Someone else asked about the pixelations of the Avatars. It really sucks

why didn't you call them bikons?

Rumpled 11-24-10 12:36 PM

woodway's fix worked for the wrapping for me in IE 7
In IE 7 I am not seeing all the flame and add or subtract gears from SS type icons at all. Just the old bubble icons.
I just refreshed that view, though; and now have the biking lizards - odd.

Oddly enough - I do see them on my blackberry. The lizard bike riders that is, but not the flames.

May be BF should have the ICONs contest. I am sure there are bunch of amateur and pro graphic artists here. BF admin can put out the specification/requirement, then let BF members vote for the best work. A small gift prize for the winner would be nice.

Worked for me as well.. IE 7.0.5730.13CO on XP. Thank you so very much. BF is readable again.

Been around since 2001 - I didn't even notice all the things so carefully pointed out here. Seems to work fine for this 71 year old guy with his 6 old IE XP computers!! WTF??

Thank you, that did it and in fact after reading your post I remember this same issue on another forum a couple years ago.

I heard some people don't have a choice at work. Could be a rumor though.

bigbossman 11-26-10 06:35 PM

Used to be that the "notification" bar for new PM's was yellow, and easily seen. Now, it's pale blue and easily missed. It's a small thing, but I think it was better when it was yellow.

ezdoesit 11-27-10 04:30 PM

too many icons already, thanks.

It looks like we're sponsored by Ronsonol (lighter fluid brand).

I just made my 1st post in a few daze and the reply window went ZING clean over to the right, almost thought I lost it, refresh didn't change that.

The old icons were plenty fine. There are still boards running v.3 and the only real difference was the attachments manager.

Which was still closing on me when I tried to add pictures a week or so back anyway.

Oh well, it'll get there eventually.

So I noticed. Thanks!!

randya 11-30-10 10:16 PM

so whatever changed in the last 24 hours has completely ruined my ability to view the forum with IE6. :(

Yeah, I know, it's not even a supported browser anymore, but I'm forced to use it at work, and they recently cancelled a planned upgrade to IE8.

Basically, I see a brief flash of the thread listings in the subforum and then I get a white screen with only the number of pages and the little green box indicating that I've posted in a thread showing. No titles or anything else.

Everything's fine in Safari.
