The down tube with decals intact. Note the small scar near the steering tube from a previous front end bump. BB shows the normal bad design of the French cups that probably should have been faced. But they worked with the original cottered steel cranks so it doesn't get changed.

The tool of choice for hub re-conditioning of the shell. The hub pictured is one that has already been done and the dust cap and tag would not be present when polishing.

This appears to be the right one, a cable ferrule fits right into the end, and the pin section is the right size from what I am seeing.

This is the label on the wrench indicating size. And at $20 I thought it was a bargain.

A 36mm combination wrench from a local big box store. Cost was $20 before any discounts or rebates. It is 20" long and gives plenty of leverage. More than my VAR tool that only has six inches of leverage.

New derailleur on the left, with complete assembly for the cable clamp. The one on the right had damaged threads for the cable clamp and needs to be re-tapped for a new fixing bolt. A transplant will happen before sending out.

My take The 299mm spoke blanks, a couple of bags of dead parts, a bash guard, chainring, and disc. The hubs are all mismatched and the brake levers are all deficient of some parts. I'm not sure what the e-clip fits but I kept it.

Stem pulled out easily and the HS was not very tight. The HS looks to clean up nicely and should be able to re-use.

Down to just the frame and ready for some touch up and decal removal. Seat post came out with a bit of PB blaster and a pipe wrench, but it came out clean. I sense a bit of tube de-rusting is going to be in order.

Suntour tool no numbers on it other than the brand. Generally difficult to find, since production stopped by 1990's .

The kit is self contained and is about 12" by 15". It lays in the top drawer of the carport tool box and gets used a lot during the summer months.

Kinda hard to see the Red X in this picture. It is some of the stash here in MH land. PM if interested.

The band with the set screw in place. It is about 2 mm too short for full engagement. The size is: 6mm x .75mm x 12mm. Hex bit from MAC truck fits fine.

The bolt on the original was about 1/2" in length and screwed into the band and acted as a post for the derailleur body. The fine thread of a Campy pivot bolt for the cage of a Record RD is a perfect fit, so the bolts must somehow exist. I just want to find one.
