As of yesterday (8/15/03) I'm at 668.85 miles, which puts me on Stage 7 someplace. So I'm back in the back again. LOL.
But on the plus side, I've got a group ride planned today that is going to be about 62, plus I'm planning on doing about 70 on Sunday. So hopefully I'll be back up there by Sunday evening. I had 7 days off the bike last week due to business travel and I could definitely feel it on the first ride back. But back in the saddle again...

Did 20 miles on a 42 pound Huffy beast today. Tomorrow morning is the beginning of my weekend. I have maps and haven't decided where I'm going, the thumb area, Petoskey, or Frankfort area. The later two are hilly. I'm aiming for 30-50 tomorrow and then 100 on wed and 100 on thurs. Last week of training for the quad century. If I'm successful, watch out again Chris, I'll be sucking your wheel. See you all in a few days.

I have now reached 2509km/1555 miles as of 21 Aug. The promised rain didn't eventuate on the century - apart from a shower on Mt Tamborine. Unfortunately I've done bugger all since then because of a few annoying non-cycling things I've only been commuting. I'll get a couple in over the next few days, however.

Got to commute home from work last week while my car was getting worked on. Up to 842. That’s 29 miles shy of finishing stage 8.
How do you guys remember the mileage of every ride? Do all of you keep a journal or something?

Well PB Walker posted something, but it was lost to the ether. I have a few more rides in since my last post, and a possible 65 miler this Saturday. I should be over a 1000 when next I post.

3,261km or 2,022 miles as of 31 Aug. I just had a massive weekend including 225km on Saturday (75% of it against the wind because it changed) and another 104km today. My legs are shot.

Completed my Quad Century over the Labor Day Weekend. First day was 110 miles with a tailwind and relatively flat. Second day was a head wind with about 2500 feet of climbing. Everyone was dead. The temperatures dropped to 37 degrees at night, brrrr. The third day was around 113 miles because of a detour. Tons of climbing, although I didn't hear the details about the amount of elevation. The fourth day, I dragged and was about to sag around mile 60. There was so much climbing, my legs were dead. I did finish the official route but I was too tired to ride the additional mile to the Mackinaw Bridge and the 5 miles over the bridge. I know I could not do the climb or deal with the wind. So next year I'll ride one of the shorter routes. The ride is called DALMAC and there are four varations. Each year there are 3 crossings of the bridge, each limited to 400 riders.
I think I'm behind Chris L. but now I am going to rest.

Well rain 4 of the last 5 days has kept me off my bike. Resorted to the trainer yesterday. 935 miles to date. Which puts me a little over half way through stage 9. At this rate, I won’t be able to finish in the allotted time. I don’t think a few weekend centuries are going to help at this point.

3389km or 2101 miles at 3 September. I'm closing in on Paris, people! Is nobody going to pip me on the line this time?
