Gingerly climbed back in the saddle for a commute today. Now I need to try to catch up to the peloton. So far: 1581km/980 miles at August 4. I estimate that crash has cost me 400km/250 miles of riding.

Did not have the weekend that I expected. Went mountain biking with my kids instead. Added 100 over the last week. 580 miles. Just 12 miles from the finish of stage six.
Does this put me officially in last place?

Well it looks like I see a newcomer coming around the bend. With 1056 I'm looking at the back end of Johnny, Viper and Chris. Chris do we have to slow down and wait for you to get better? Is that a part of the code? I'm riding to my mom's house about 350 miles on Tues thru Thurs. Just practice for a Quad Century starting 8/28 called DALMAC. Sure do hate to pass you boys up, but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.

Oh, I'm better now, or riding again at least. I haven't done much in the last week or so, but I did get my redemption ride (for redemption read "mountains and rainforest) at the weekend. I'll update my distance shortly.

Sorry we fell off the pace, since the end of RAGBRAI we have been traveling extensively. I brought my bike but have only been able to get on it as of today while visiting a fellow cyclist in South Carolina. It's going to be another 4-5 days before I sit on the saddle again.

Alright, back on the bike now at last. I'm up to 1979km/1226 miles as at Aug 12. Unfortunately now the second CPA module for the year is about to take up some of my time. I really needed not to crash! Either way, the aforementioned Redemption Ride is one that I will never, ever forget.

Viper, I didn't know you went to RAGBRAI, how come you didn't post anything on the RAGBRAI thread?
Chris, I looked for the Redemption Ride, what are you talking about, you post in so many places, I didn't see it or do you mean your first long ride since your fall. Glad you're feeling better.
I'll be off in a couple of hours for my bicycle trip to my mom's house, won't be on BF for a few days.

I haven't posted details of my Redemption Ride. It wasn't really a "long" ride either, but it did wonders for my confidence at a time when I really needed it. Now I can start doing a few long rides on the weekends.
