I get half my bicycle stuff from MEC, and the other half from Nashbar. And I need to place orders with both places soon.

Just look up the shipping page on the website and see what they say for international shipping to Canada. And add $5 + GST for Canada Customs.

But with the Canadian Dollar being so good right now, we're laughing. :)

Nashbar is a piece of crap. $20 shipping for a $40 order. Tell them to go eff themselves. Go shop at probikekit instead.

I just looked up probikekit http://www.probikekit.com/postage.php and was interested to discover this comment in their shipping page:

"International delivery charges for orders sent to countries outside the European Union is charged at a flat fee of £12.00 regardless of order value. We do reserve the right to quote a higher delivery charge for any international requests, EU orders, or orders containing unusually bulky or heavy items."

Right at the moment, with today's exchange rates, £12.00 is 24.81 CAD. So ... $24.81 regardless of order value. Even if the item ordered was half that amount.

Nashbar just had free shipping on for the last week, and includes shipping to canada. Performance bike has 0.25 shipping on right now, but shipping to canada doesnt count.

Does it still have free shipping on? My luck, I missed it!

This has happened to me twice, on orders spaced several months apart. I know others who have had similar experiences. This seems like a scam on their part; if you call/email, they will refund the shipping, but I'll bet they're hoping you don't notice.

No other online vendors that I've used have failed to remove shipping charges on free-shipping orders. The technology isn't exactly rocket science.

How fast Nashbar stuff arrives?
 

I ordered cable + some other stuff a day before yesterday from bike nashbar. Ground shipping, UPS...


When can I expect everything to arrive?



I ordered XT der the same day I think, and it just came in. USPS Priority Mail out of NC, told guy to rush it.. Now, he's gonna get some crazy good feedback. Something like PLATINUM POWER SELLER or something.

Next week.

I've ordered from them 3 or 4 times. Always used standard shipping & always got within a week. No complaints here. Seems the same as anyplace else.

Depends, about a week + 1 or 2 days to get to Southern California... If i'm ordering enough stuff (over $50 usually) and it's something i'm not willing to wait too long for (things i want to get before the weekend ride if i'm ordering on a monday), i'll usually spring for the 2 day shipping along with using the 10% off coupon that's usually floating around somewhere and i don't mind paying a few bucks extra usually. If you order $100+ worth of stuff, the 10% off completely covers the 2-day shipping (or comes very close).

About 2 days for ground shipping. Of course I live within 100 miles of the warehouse. :)

Two days from the time you order or two days after the order ships? For me, it is a two minmum just to ship.

The key is to always use 2 day/3 day or next day shipping if you want your stuff to arrive faster. Any shipping business's always shuffle those orders to the top of the list. If I'm using ground shipping I've seen any where from 1 week up to 2 1/2 weeks using ground.

Oh, and they screwed me out of free shipping this week and are giving me the runaround over it. :(

I wouldn't mind much any other time, but that cable is critical.

It may have shipped, but they won't give you a tracking number for USPS shipments anyway.

They did the same to me! My invoice says $21 but i was billed $27!

Called nashbar directly and they credited my account back. No fuss, took 2 seconds.

I've ordered from Nashbar in the afternoon and had the product in hand by 9am the next day. I've also waited a month. Those folks are like gambling. Bike schwag roulette, if you will.

They sent me a bottle of degreaser with instead of the helmet I ordered on my last order. Someone had placed the sticker for the helmet on the degreaser and no one noticed that it was a bottle and not a helmet....

Standard shipping from Nashbar or Performance for that matter, requires patience. Don't be surprised if stuff comes a day or two later than you expect.

What I ordered actually came in earlier than expected (to a place in NY)
