I was at Wally mart the other day to pick up some automotive oil and bearing grease (great on bikes too!). In addition I got a jug of mineral spirit for my homebrew chain lube. Anyhow wandered to the bicycle section because it is sooo exciting.
Came across this MTB by NEXT. Boy is it a heavy mutha! I reckon it is around 40lb! Headset is a two-piece weld job. In fact alot of its bikes are like that too. Yeeesh! Cheap though. $119 for this High-Ten steel bike. You get lotsa metal for the money.
While I was there, a family was browsing children bikes. Their son tried it. The bike fell, daddy said, try again. Son said "No it's too heavy!" (to lift off the floor).
IMHO, Target carries better quality bikes than Walmart. Store wise atleat. I remember coming across some crazy expensive road bike with top end parts on walmart.com. Mail order only.
