Joggin and cycling

Hello BF, Im soon doing a trip for about 11 days and unfortunately I cant take my bike with me. Im 16 and train 4 days a week and each day consists of 42 miles. I searched a bit and some websites says that jogging is good when the bike isnt around and others says it does not helps at all and doesnt works. My question is, is jogging or running good when the bike isnt around? Will it keep my training?

It'll keep you fit, which is the main thing. It won't exercise the cycling-specific muscles (you'll likely find your quads are stiff after jogging if you haven't been a runner for a while - the way in which the muscle contracts is different than for cycling) but I'd certainly say do it, just to ensure you keep your cv system in its current shape until you can get back on the bike.

A 42 mile bike ride is probably about the same effort as a one hour jog (more or less). It's hard to do a 1 hour jog every other day (no mater how fit you are) without slowly building up to it. The ramp up time period for running is way longer than biking.
