Hermes, did you notice that Kansantsin Sivstsov, whom I believe you met over the winter, rode away from the field in the Giro del Trentino yesterday to win a mountain stage? Looks to be in great shape. Likely to be one of Wiggins' main men in the Giro proper, I guess.

Thanks Chasm54, No, I did not know. I bet Dmitry, his coach and my former coach, is ecstatic. His role in the TdF last year was to go to the front and destroy the field with Wiggins on his wheel but he crashed out early and broke his leg.

Turns out the electronic model will not be shipped to the US in XL this year... BUT, there is a D/A 9000 version sitting in 'teh Jersey', which is about to have my name attached to it. Knock wood, but it's looking like I will have that bike, with a new SRM and new racing wheels, within the budget of the insurance settlement (even after the deductible). And guess what? That model is my favorite color, which is no color at all. Someone please steal my other bikes.

AzT - Excellent! Now you can be a "Giant among Men" in more ways than one.

Lentils...
I read about how good these are for you, so I bought a bag and cooked them, using just a bit of light salt and a quarter onion for seasoning. They're blander than the beans I make, though I chop up a big sausage link with the beans and throw it all in a crock pot. I don't think sausage would work with the lentils, though ham might. My usual fix-it method - Tabasco - didn't work too well. Recommendations for seasoning these things? Meat/vegetable stock?

There are dealers taking preorders, but I don't believe it's shipping yet. I'm going for the DA 7800 crankset SRM, with 7900 chainrings.
Chasm, I'll still be moving the PM around, although the better budget may let me find something for the TT bike.

From what I've read, yes. In fact, Cervelo sells an 11 speed bike with a ROTOR 10sp crank and rings. Apparently you can also put an 11sp crankset on a 10sp drivetrain, so long as you use an 11sp chain. I went blind researching this issue, and finally decided to go with it.

AzT - you displayed even more angst than I can muster, but I'll know you'll be happy with it! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

There's a red lentil and cabbage version that is one of my favourites, I'll post the recipe if you're interested.
EDIT: Here's a very similar one on-line. Saved me typing it out.

Make them into a dhal/dal. Chopped onions, green chillies, turmeric, cumin, garlic. Chopped fresh coriander or parsley to garnish. Serve with rice or bread. Often served in indian restaurants as a side dish, but makes a very tasty lunch on its own.

The other data point supporting it is that there are pro teams using the 11sp Di2, with Shimano 10sp SRMs. With the 9000 mechanical, I'll miss plugging my bike into my laptop to tune it up. That would have been fun.
