Hi, guys, just checking in, I haven't been in virtual world much lately. Riding is temporarily down, too -- I'm going through my usual spring pollen plague. This year, the stopped-up-head thing hasn't been too bad, but I've had a nonstop minor-grade headache for days. It will pass as soon as my burgundy car stops turning completely light green every morning.

I've also recently adopted two mental-case cats, so I've been hanging at home more often, trying to get them to convince themselves that, yes, they can come out from under the couch, the little human female is not going to roast them up for dinner or anything like that.

I hoped they're "fixed" females or you may start waking to the serenades of amourous toms. The complement to that is if they are males, they'll be bashing themselves against the windows and climbing the curtains to get out--it's Spring, don't ya know.

Give them a couple weeks, they'll have taken over and you'll have wished they stayed under the couch.

Hurray! I reached 1,200 miles for the month! I'm going to take a rest for the rest of the week... I think.

Yeah, don't I know it -- they have my sympathy. Well, they *would* have my sympathy, but as it happens, they're both fixed. And they're one of each (male about 7 months, female about a year.) The male was a feral kitten rescued from a South Baltimore scrap metal yard at about 5 months of age, a little late for a wild cat to be tamed, but he made a lot of progress with the rescue lady. The female just sort of showed up one day at the rescue and didn't leave, so I don't know her backstory, but she has some behaviors that make me think she may have been abused. The male and female became good buddies while at the rescue, so, sucker that I am, I took them both. *sigh*

Today the female came out from under the sofa and stayed near (but out of reach) and warily but with evident interest sat and watched me make and eat breakfast. Progress!

Yeah, on the one hand, I'm kind of aggravated about the rain, but on the other, I'm really hoping it's the death knell for the pollen!

So both whacko cats were sitting in the same room with me yesterday evening, and I got one to play a bit with a toy, but she wasn't fooled into getting too close to me. But the male did finally decide to make his way over to me, and as the rescue lady had said, he does indeed love to be petted -- he was purring like a little motor, and giving me lots of head-butts and body-swipes.

I like it, Barry. I'm going to order a few. If they could get popular enough to warrant several different designs, that would be great!

Just to note that I have no idea how it will come out. I've gotten comments that most likely the print will be too small to read at a distance but I think most bumper stickers are read sitting at stop lights and in parking lots so for me that's not a major issue.

Like I said this is an experiment.

Yeah, I wondered about that. But the Web site said the stickers are 10 x 3 (I think), so that seems pretty big.

Day 1 down.

I have to start packing the bag that I'll place in the SAG wagon. YES, you read that right... we'll have a SAG wagon for this trip. That means I can run the bike in "race" dress, instead of commuter.

Well, how about one where the picture is on the sticky side? Like, maybe, in case you want to stick it on a window... ...and have it be able to be read from the inside by the "recipients"?

Yeah, I don't actually put bumper stickers on my car. If they're not of the type that NR describes, I'll tape them to the inside of my rear window.
