Anyone know at Triax Blade?
I was at my Used LBS today and saw a full suspension bike that said "Triax" on the top tube and "Blade" on the down tube and "Blade" on the fork as well. I've never heard of this brand. The counter guy said its an awesome bike (of course). It was priced at $180, they had a Trek 820 for $140 and a Spec Rock Hopper with Rock Shox for $144 also. Oh I thought I'd add, I don't know much about bikes. I did see disc brakes of some sort on the Triax. Anyone know what the Triax is and if its worth anything? I've searched google and this forum to no avail.

Not to be taking cheap shots at you two, but he clearly states he went to the "Used LBS". That would explain the cheap prices. Don't you have some kind of bicycle recycle place?

Yep the Specs and Treks were pretty old. I went back to look again and noticed the big chainring bash guard was made out of plastic. Thats the first plastic one I've seen and that can't be good. and I looked closer on the rear suspension and the tension adjuster is fake, just for show! that kindof annoyed me. He's probably just selling it for more than the good bikes because its pretty and he hopes to cash in on the eye candy factor. However my New LBS is having a sale on new women's treks for $270 with a bunch of starter accessories (its for my fiancee), so I may just go that route.

So, there are new Triax Blade bikes being sold at Target this Sunday. $131 . It has front disc brakes, aluminum frame, and full suspension. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything else online about the bike. Thanks for letting me know about the tension adjuster.

Um I have the Triax Blade and I can confirm that it is a very well built bike...and the rear suspension IS adjustable...i just got done adjusting it the other day...just simply twist it like any other high-end 3 point rear suspension. The only gripe I have with it is the front derailer but I am taking that to the LBS to get tuned tommorrow...Also if you get this bike you will want to replace the saddle as the stock one is very thin and uncomfortable...I recommend the Schwinn Gel-Tech Saddle...very comfortable and weather resistant. This bike is really light weight and the front suspension is very good...the rear suspension comes stock pretty stiff so you will need to loosen it up but after some tweaking, you got a very comfortable mountain biking experience.
