Did a new ride today in Newbury Park, CA. 98% singletrack with some technical climbing. The last climb up the road was less than desirable but overall a fun day.

Went out to ride at the bluff creek trails in OK for the first time went good besides the fact that I broke a plastic pedal and girlfriend's front tire went flat. Had fun and enjoyed it though!

Tried a new view yesterday. Looks nice when descending but sucks for pedaling.

went to crested butte and rode the 401. because i'm fat and lazy i cheated and started at rustler's gulch. the road climb wasn't too bad, there was a patch of leftover snow close to emerald lake, but otherwise, nice. then i took my bike for a leisurely walk up the long steep singletrack to the part where i could eventually breathe and head downhill. and then it was on! flowers in full bloom, grass and such really high, gorgeously amazing views you only see on postcards, and sweet fun ripping buff singletrack. there was one spot with snow on it, and one sort of muddy spot, but the rest was spec-friggin-tacular. back at rustler's gulch i wussed out and went back to the car and on to lunch and came home. it was a good ride.

I did the Midnight Century last night. No photos, unfortunately. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104640962 Set the course record for the third year in a row, and that's despite using spray chalk to put down smilie faces and some direction arrows for the rest of the riders :D

I felt pretty feeble, actually, but now I know the route really well and can spend my energy in the right places. I also tweaked my bike for the ride, it came out to about 18.5 pounds base weight with my XC-race wheels and 26 x 2.0 Furious Freds.

Did a recon ride of the first part of the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race today. St. Kevin's, Sugarloaf, and the Powerline Descent. Took it super easy since I'm tapering, but wow it was still tough. Powerline was more technical than I expected. My riding buddy flatted riding tubeless at 20psi - I had no problem at 30psi.

Had an awesome ride er i guess i should say hike yesterday. 2 flats and only had 1 extra tube and no patch kit. Had to hike most of the way out. So much fun. Really need to make the switch to tubeless.

You need a tube to perform this trick!

rode horsethief bench last night with my buddy. i've ridden it tons of times, but last night was super fun. i did a drop i hadn't done before, i didn't even know it was there until my buddy pointed it out and showed me. it was like a new trail. he showed me two other drops i hadn't seen before. we did some high speed cornering and mixed it up with fun screwing around and skill improvement. then, on the way back, we took a trail that doesn't really exist and isn't really a trail, and it was just a fun, great ride with friends. easy pace, perfect weather, just riding to have fun, not being competitive or trying to get a work out. we were riding bicycles. it was just like it's supposed to be.

Had a great ride last night. Did 15mi with a little under 2000ft of climbing. Got ran off the trail by a bobcat. Had to bail to avoid hitting it after it darted out in front me. After making me wreck it stopped about 15-20ft away and just casually watched me. It was pretty cool. Got a vid of it which i will try and post later.

Sweet. I love that trail. From the Loma lot, out on Moore Fun and then looping around on some of the other stuff to eventually work back to Horsethief was my favorite way to do it. I've cleaned the entry once, out of manymanymanymany attempts. I was so surprised that I'd made it down unscathed.

Got out to Pineridge Natural Area to test the new parts and work out any kinks. The ride itself was good. Warm, sunny, and only had to avoid a few pedestrians.
