Shoveled and pushed a snowblower all day today.

^^ Welcome to my world; although I prefer to attack with a 7½-foot moldboard.

yak 12-21-09 09:16 AM

Ya, we got dumped on, 2 feet in some places. I hiked some of the trails in Duxbury with snowshoes yesterday. It will take some time before they're ready for the ice tire attack. I may hike some more tomorrow night to hasten the process.

Going out to see if I cant conquer that line that beat my arse a little over a week ago. Leg and back/ribs are still a bit tender but have full mobility and I have the day off so I am not passing it up!!

Daspydyr 12-22-09 12:06 PM

52 degrees, that is what the weather was at 6:30 this morning. It was breezy, but beautiful. 16.7 miles. SADLY, I didn't see another rider out this morning.

I took the kids from work mountain biking yesterday on some walmart POS's through Cameron Park. We hit up some greens and blues. The kids hit the climbs hard. Their brakes started failing half way into it which made the last half of the ride fun.
The weather was in the mid 60's with mostly cloudy skies. It was an awesome experience to take them mountain biking for the first time and show them the wilderness that exists right in their own back yard. Can't wait to do it again.

I took a couple of tumbles being stupid and not paying attention to my line but these are all things I will learn since Ive only been really riding for about 6 or 7 months. I was able to conquer the line that tore me up the last time and I took a few pics of the trail with my broken camera. I cant see what Im taking pics of but the pics upload to my computer fine.

Trail is a blast it isnt marked well at all so you just pick an area and go for it, I am still finding new sections and I've been out there a lot lately. Some of our others finally opened back up after being under the lakes and rivers after all the rain so I may hit a different trail Christmas morning.

4evrplan 12-23-09 01:52 PM

That really does look like a fun place to ride. It kinda reminds me of some local trails but way more open.

MindlessDeviant 12-23-09 02:10 PM

I was around Naco-nowhere not too long ago and was wishing I had my bike....so many trees!!!

It's starting to look like that here it is snowing so hard visibility sucks! It's actually sticking too which is insane.

White Christmas in DFW? And they say the earth is getting warmer. Amazing the difference a few hours drive makes. It's been really warm here this week, even a day in the 70s, until yesterday. Enjoy the snow.

MindlessDeviant 12-25-09 11:25 AM

It was 73 degrees here on Wed and them snow and 65 mph winds with 5 ft snow drifts in some areas. It was all ice this morning made for a fun drive

yerodtr 12-25-09 06:09 PM

Got a great ride in at Alafia River State Park on Christmas Eve .... was in the mid 70's.

Was having toooo much fun to take more pictures. Definitely didn't get any pics of the hard/technical stuff.

Mighty fine arse kicking report, and boy howdy dodie, you take better pics with a broken camera than my good one. Keep strong!

Maiden voyage with the Garmin 305, 18.89 miles and 1762 elevation gain. Now I need to learn how to post a chart. Sloan Canyon was the destination, tried some new hills.
