Like I said, I would be down when the trails dry out. They are prediction 1-2inches of rain per out. Damn. You maybe old but I am only fast pointed downhill. That said if you Ed and Mike don't mind waiting on Matt and me then we are good to go. Going to have to be fairly soon though because I am back in ICT for the summer in about 2.5 weeks.

And yes that's the Brian Lopes signature paint job.

I'm good with the time frame, we can even work around what trail is dry at the time. I just like to ride. If I can meet a few new people along the way it's even better! Let's git er dun!

yellowjeep 04-26-09 09:42 PM

Sounds good to me.

Here's a few from today. We rode the Sweetwater Trail, and Salmon Falls, which are in the El Dorado Hills, CA area. It ended up at 23 miles and about 1700 ft of climbing. I did it all on my new SS 29er ;)

It's weird climbing standing up, but it's getting easier with each ride.

That looks awesome

Wow Beautiful weather and a rigid bike. THat spells workout in my book!

Decided to break in the new season with a leisurely cruise over at Cranbrook. Weather was chilly today, 60s and windy.

Oh, and it was kind of muddy, too. :thumb:

Intensity: 1/10

Fun Factor: 7/10

Did over 7 miles and didn't even break a sweat (or my balls, see pic below).
By the way my current bike is just temporary, I'm in the process of researching parts to build a new one.

Yes Sir I do. I got whacked in the family jewels one too many times (missed pedals). My eggbeaters should be arriving any day now. My shoes and pedals got muddy today and I feel on the frame and there was no pain whatsoever. That insulation stuff really does wonders.

Something just doesn't look right Scrub, but I can't put my finger on it. :innocent:

What happened?

What do you sing? I always sing:

I love to go a-wandering
along the mountain track
and as I go I laugh and sing
my knapsack on my back!"

broken hanger. normally a quick fix, as i carry a couple spares. this time, i cracked open my mid-ride beer and took my time fixing things. :)

dminor 05-04-09 12:13 PM

Good thing the bottle opener wasn't built into the hanger.

Headed out with a couple of buddies for a nice trail ride along Lake Minnewanka on Saturday...the weather was awesome and the trail was great other than a few ultra-muddy spots. Despite the warmer weather, the lake was still completely frozen.

Pinkbike vids are back up so I might as well post these...a buddy got a GoPro so we had to try it out a couple of weekends back. The camera needs to be angled up a bit but you get a good sense of the ride. The only thing the camera doesn't show very well is the steep stuff.

We rode Steamboat Mountain just outside of Radium, BC and Mt Swansea just outside of Invermere BC on the Saturday.

Mt Swansea:

Nope, not at all.

yellowjeep 05-04-09 03:47 PM

never, that steamboat mountain trail looks like a blast.

never 05-04-09 03:59 PM

I find Swansea more fun than Steamboat...fewer stunts but steeper and faster. Only a portion of the best Swansea trail was shown in the vid.

yellowjeep 05-04-09 04:14 PM

Yeah, wow. I didn't watch both vids at first. I would gladly ride either of them. Damn.
